Hi,

I just registered on this site and look forward to visiting and possible riding with other members. MotoCampers looks like the perfect forum for me. My favorite kind of riding is loading up my GS, heading to the Big Bend area and finding a back country camping site. Some of my most memorable camps have been at the most isolated parts of Big Bend. Also, I am always looking at different gear for camping and for my bike.

Welcome to the site, I'm planning on hitting Big Bend the end of Feb. Going to hit Guadalupe SP then on to Ft Davis for a couple days while riding the area.

I'm on a Wing (shhhh, don't say anything or the teddy bear will fall off my trunk rack), but, I'll camp anywhere the road is paved or just a little dirty.

We may have to open up a Dual Sport or Back Country section if there are enough to make it useful. I know Rick wouldn't have a problem with that.

This site isn't for any particular brand of bike, so there will be a wide variety of campers here, please feel free to ask anything or contribute any info. you might have.

I love my GS and camping out in the middle of nowhere. If you can make the Big Bend ride in Feb maybe can spend one night and day out in the open desert.

I am going to be in the Big Bend area (camping near Terlingua) February 15-19th. There will be four of us on GS's. Any chance that your trip out there will be during this same time? If so, maybe we can meet for a beer at the Starlight theatre.

The current dates are 2/23-26...But, we always go to Big Bend a couple times a year... and, looks like Rick might be going to Cooper Canyon late in the year too...

My GS riding buddies Jim, Mike and David all live in Houston. There will be a mountain bike race and a Honda get together when we are there. It won't be so crowded the following week, but it is the only time the four of us can go together.

I was supposed to ride and camp at Buescher State Park this weekend, but my wife got sick and I stayed home with her. So, a weekend ride anywhere sounds good to me. My wife rides also, and I'm hoping to take her to Enchanted Rock soon.

FrioPoint- Who you going to Big Bend with? Are they other riders from Houston area? If I can get off work I be going with Joe at the end of February.

Yes, I'm Robert. We met at Wild West just before my Big Bend trip last year. I'll be back at Wild West after this trip for a new rear tire. I'm sorry that our trips are one week apart and we won't get to visit in Big Bend, but hopefully we can get together soon. I really like this forum and I am going to take notes of the places I go so I can contribute.
