The ALWAYS controversial catalytic heater. I have the Coleman "xtremecat".
I don't think Coleman sells this model anymore. I bought it because its small size and it uses Iso type fuel cans ( same as my stove ). I only pack it if I know its going to be below freezing. I'll admit this thing scares me. It gets extremely hot and could easily burn you/your tent/ sleepingbag etc. and the thought of CO poisoning will be on your mind. Coleman clearly states that it is safe in a tent though. If you can deal with that it does put out some nice heat for my two man tent. **I only use it while awake. I would never leave it on while sleeping. ** It's nice to have a little heat at night while reading maps etc. or to have some heat while drinking my morning hot chocolate ( I'm not a coffee drinker ).
