I was going to meet up with RickD today but I couldn't get someone to watch the dogs that long so I ended up going to Oklahoma to visit my parents and drop off some books to my Mom - she loves to read and has developed a liking for Dean Koontz novels.

It was 45 degrees when I left and it has been very warm in the Dallas area recently so I just wore a long sleeve shirt, gerbing liner (left hook-up at home), jacket and over pants.

Well, when I hit the border it was 28 degrees. I left my electrical hookup to my jacket at home as I thought it was just gonna get warmer. This after posting what to wear for cold weather riding....

It's only 200 miles to where my parents live in southeast Oklahoma and the sun was coming up, I left at 6am, so it finally started warming up.

A quick visit with my folks and then back on the road to get out of the way of all the drunks, I hope I didn't offend any drunks here, and back home.

About 430 miles total for my last ride of 2005.

Hope everyone had a chance to get in a final trip.

YOU BET !!!

The '06 is finally back together!!!! I worked on it all day but after supper I went back out and put the final pieces in place and took it for a test ride. ;) ;) It wasn't far but at least I got to ride on the last day of 2005. Tomorrow I'll be meeting up with a few of the guys from here and seeing if we can break this sucker in... Shoot, I don't have 100 miles on yet and I've owned the bike three weeks now!!! :( :( :(

I still have a couple things I want to do but nothing that will keep the bike in the Wingroom like this initial stay.. We'll be all raring to go come February that's for sure..:p :p :p

Man what a great day for riding in Texas today. Went west and did 390 and some other cool roads. Cover about 300 miles and enjoyed ever bit of it. :D

I too took a nice little ride today after work. Had to run out for a can of Skoal and decided to ride and give my new boots a shake-down run (Oxtar Infinity - NICE) and took the "long way" home. Found a very nice road just down from my house that I hadn't been on before.
