I don't mind the cold so much but the ice/sleet is not exactly fun..
I might try to make a mud/ice/snow man later... LOL

12 degrees F here this morning, with a lite dusting of lake-effect snow on a base of ice from two days ago.... Apparently we caught the tail end of the major icy system that blew though the country a few days ago. Our roads are kinda messy, which means riding my ST is out of the question.
Curiously... I heard a radio traffic report this morning announcing a car/MOTORCYCLE accident!

Heck, we didn't get enough snow to cover the grass here. The SO lives 50 miles east of me and she got a few inches of snow at her place. Her daughter took her to the doctor for a post-op check up and they were down to 15 MPH on the return trip. Her hip is doing great.

That can't be good... but, I've known some GS riders that have braved this kinda stuff... :think1: :dizzy1:

Back in the day.... I was stationed in Charleston SC in the early to late 60's. We had an ice storm after '67 'cause that's when I got my Triumph TR6C. Well without any alcohol in me, I left my apartment that I shared with 1 Triumph, 1 BSA, and 1 Norton, owner and prceeded to show the Charlestonians that it was possible to ride a motorcycle on Rivers Avenue in an ice storm. It was a four lane undivided highway back then, don't what it is now. Any how I got to one of the bridges that was completely ice covered and got the back wheel spinning and rode the length of the bridge sideways. I got a lot of probably unwanted attention from the cages that were on the bridge creeping at less than 10 MPH and there were no LEO's present. And as I got to the end of the bridge, I got both wheels back in line and proceeded back to the house. Laughing by butt off when I was confronted by my room mates.

I know it's not as bad here as other places... we only have a couple of inches of snow and it's just below freezing most of the time......
... but I hate this time of the year! The roads are useless for riding right now, and even if the temps were to rise and clear the ice off the pavement I don't like to ride until the road salt is washed away.
I can only check my gear so many times a week!

Snow!!!
We got more snow! I don't mind the cold so much as not being able to find pavement to plant my two wheels on. There ain't no way I can ride my ST on these roads. These two pics are from my front steps.
