I am looking for input on timing for a trip around the US border. Not a iron butt go as fast as you can. Rather take the time to see and enjoy. Will be pulling a Lees-sure-lite xl. I would like to leave as early as possible but want to shoot for decent weather. Plan from Parsons, Tn. to Key West, then head west around the coast to Brownsville, then follow the border to Ca. There are a lot of areas I have never been to Big Bend, Pacific NW, and far North East.
Thanks

Welcome to the site! How much time do you have for this ride? It should be one cool ride. :wow1:

Welcome onboard!
Heading south from TN to FL you could probably leave now. Going across the rest of the South will be fairly comfortable from now through late April(with the possible exception of the random arctic front coming through). The summer months across south Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and Southernmost California will be uncomfortably warm to a Tennessee boy.
If time is no limit and you plan on taking as long as it takes, leave in time to do your Southerly and Westerly route before May/June. Then take some real time cruising the mountains and coast of California, Oregon and Washington. That should get you headed back across the Northern states in July/August when their riding time is the most favorable(the mountain passes should be well cleared of snow by then).
But then this is an El Nino year and all bets are off, GOOD LUCK wish I had the time to go with you.
