I've lurked on this site for many months and finally registered. Like many members, I'm just starting out with respect to planning a camping trip. I recently purchased my first "modern" motorcycle, but haven't had the opportunity to ride it much due to the heat we had over the summer here in Texas. But the weather has been great over the past few weeks. My last road bike was a 1967 Triumph that I sold in 1971, so it's been about 40 yrs since I've ridden.

My plan is to get out of my home comfort zone, get some camping gear and give this a try. This site is excellent for a new motocamper. It really gives one perspective in so many ways. Not only what gear you need for motocamping, but also that people all ages are doing this, not just younger individuals. Reading about everyone's adventures is inspiring and makes you realize how special this type of opportunity is. I figured at my age, if I'm ever going to do this, now's the time.

Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself and tell you guys how much I've appreciated all the information I've already received from here.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes.

too bad you still don't have that old Triumph!

Hope my first attempt at posting pics works. I went to faq's and read the great write up. It's not my 67 Bonnie, but is pretty close. The pic with two bikes shows 40 years difference.

Just a personal preference, but I like the older bike better. Welcome from a fellow Texan, from Wood county.

I agree. The older bikes seem to have more personality and are by far more distinguishable between the brands than with todays bikes......but then I just like old bikes. :D
