Ground cloth reccomendations

Need some reccomendations on good protective ground cloth to use under my new tent.
Looking for good protection yet fairly easy to pack up and stow. Tent foot print is approx 7*6..

What do you use?

I use a cheap tarp that I picked up at Wal-Mart. I trimmed it to fit the tent foot print. Have had the same tarp for two years now.. These tarps pack small and are tough as nails..

As Goldrush says cheap tarp works good. Some guys go even cheaper and use the vinyl matress shipping cover. Cut it to the footprint of your tent and your good to go. If there is good sod where I'm setting up I just lay it on the ground.

I'm in with the wal-mart tarp group.

These tarps are better than using plastic sheeting and more resistant to puncture than a nylon footprint.

I bought a 9X12 tarp and fold the excess under the tent.

All my tents came with a footprint tarp, but I would caution you not to use a tarp that sticks out beyond the tent walls. I won't go into why I deliver that caution! :tent1:

COME ON!

What have you got against having a little water reservoir under your tent. If you're primitive camping you might need the extra water for cleanup.:shower1:

I use the wm tarp also, I use it to enclose tent, cot, chair, polls & sleeping bag. I leave the long out in front for a door mat.
