Weather:
The best times to visit the area is during the fall or spring. During those times it can by quite cool overnight and very comfortable during the day.

Campground Condition:

The sites are all in very good conditions and each site is a good size, enough to easily accommodate 4 tents. The ground can be hard with many buried rocks so be sure to bring a malet for getting your tent stakes in the ground.
The bathroom and shower facilities are always clean and in good shape.
You can get firewood at the ranger station.
There's also an Indian Lodge in the park that has a nice little restaurant that has a good breakfast.Area Attractions:

This Davis Loop consists of a route beginning on Hwy 17 in Fort Davis and, heading north, intersects with 118 west to 166 south and then 166 turns eastward back to Hwy 17. Many take this opportunity to visit the McDonald Observatory.

River Road (170) runs from Presidio, TX eastward to Terlinqua/Study Butte, TX just before the entrance of Big Bend National Park.Additional Information:
