Welcome. You didn't say what month you were at the Pass. I heard from a bunch of folks that it is not uncommon to have lots of snow there every month but August. Since Wing Ding is in Billings this year, Bear Tooth is on my list of things to take the SO to on her Western State tour.

Chris, We will be at the campground on the Yellowstone in the Bunkhouse for Wing Ding. The SO has a lot of blanks on her North America patch to get filled in, after the Big Show, we intend to hit all the western states and then head back home.

Thanks for all the welcomes!:) The pic was taken over Labor day weekend (Sept 06). Yes it can snow there anytime, we rode over in July in 04 and hit a very wet snow storm. But usually in the summer months the snow does not stay on the ground as thick as this pic shows. I'm guessing the pass was closed a few days after this ride.

For you guys/gals thinking about doing Beartooth, Yellowstone, etc, I'd be glad to tag along and show you what little I know about that area, if your interested. Or if you just have questions about it, I can try to answer them.
