Morning, gang!

New rider here from S. Jersey... Finally got my hands on a V Strom and I'm heading out to do some camping in a few weeks up in the PA Grand Canyon. Super excited, as this is the first time in a LONG time since I've camped (and the first time by way of motorcycle).

I look forward to meeting new people and learning a ton!

Welcome, from Ct. You may want to check out the 'events' thread. Depending on how far your willing to travel, there's always something going on! You may also be interested in the Nor'easter Rally they are having near Watkins Glen in N.Y. for the vintage car racing. I think it will be really cool, and the guys said anyone is welcome, plus group camping is only $10 for the weekend!!

Welcome from Western Kentucky, if you have questions don't be shy, jump right in. Take your time and go through the site as there is a wealth of info that has been shared by the great members on here. I have learned a ton of info from here, but it will make you get into that wallet! :lol

Thanks, guys! I certainly look forward to hooking up with some of you at some events. Now, the key is just finding a reason to escape from the wife and kids... Ha!

John, how often do you go out and where do you generally go?

Welcome middie,

If you would like some company when you go to PA's Grand Canyon, let me know.
I'm always looking for an excuse to go camping.

John, how often do you go out and where do you generally go?

Being a mailman I only get one weekend every six weeks off, rotating day-off kind of thing. If only doing one or two nights we'll head to Bull's Island Rec. Area (near Washington's Crossing), or Hickory Run SP in PA.

If we can get away for a week or so, we've been known to do the Blue Ridge Parkway, Watkin's Glen area of NY, Route 6 through PA, or, most recently Hunt's Lodge, Tellico Plains, TN for the Cherohala Chill Out.

My next opportunity this year won't be until Labor Day weekend. I'll have four days to play with, I'm getting itchy just thinking about it.:D

Best to take the wife along, She will enjoy it and you wont have to answer questions when youy get home. If my bike is moving and I am not to or from work my wife will be in the back seat. She loves the riding and camping as much as I do.

Believe me, I've been trying to get her on the bike for years. She just won't bite. Fortunately, she's not the type to ask questions! P^

At least they didn't call you the wicked witch of Windsor ...

I had to re-read it, I though she got the tag from paddling some friends, instead of some paddling friends. :lol
