Weather:
Low 80's, sunny, moderate to heavy south wind

Campground condition:
Tent area is more a group area. No specific sites. Gound is sloped southward to a dry draw. Cedar trees provide wind protection on the south. Some terracing that provides some level areas.

RV sites are level concrete pads. No fire rings, 30 amp power and water.

New shower facility with 2 showers. Be advised, this state park charges for your shower. Currently 75 cents for 3 minutes.

Area riding:
This is western Oklahoma. Pretty straight and level. One can see for miles! Little Sahara State Park is about 15 miles away and affords dunes for those so inclined.

There are 6 caverns on the park. The main cavern is not open to free exploring but has a public tours every hour to 4:00 p.m. for a nominal fee. 4 of the others are considered to be "wild caves" and are open to exploration with a permit available at the park office.

I've been here with the family (cage camping), but not on the bike. Very flat land around here, but a good stopover location if headed toward the Oklahoma panhandle and Colorado. This is the first I've heard of pay showers in OK.

Like that place and the country is very neat. First glance not much there but that's not true. Had a good friend that was a gamewarden based out of Woodward so got to see a lot of that area with him. Camped out there with three buddies one night, wind blowing around a bagillion miles an hour. All went to bed when the sun went down and the gin ran out. Woke up the next morning and every Boy Scout from Tulsa county move in over night. But that's another story......;) Campfire story for June Mr. Guy.P^
