Yes, that is blood all along the side of the cab . Received this from my buddy that is stationed up in North Dakota, what a thing to wake up to!

In 1968 I rode a BSA Goldstar. Don't you just love Lucas Electrics. This bike had a habit of the headlight going out at the most inoportune time. The only way to get it back was to stop, shut the bike off and then restart it. Well on the way home from work on night on a twisty country road the light went out as I was entering a corner. Just past the corner there was a small dairy farm where the farmer took the cows across the road to milk them. There was a cow in the road. I hit it broadside. Broke the frame on the Goldstar Killed the cow, and I ended up in a blackberry bush across the road. I wasn't hurt other than many scratches and small cuts from thorns. The farmer was very upset and had no sympathy.

You figure the farmer would have someone out there with a flash light to warn people!
I couldn't imagine taking a cow out with a motorcycle, I'm glad those black berry brambles were there to cushion your fall though :p. I'm really surprised you walked away from the incident.

I hit a deer once and didn't know it until I got home. I saw two of them on the right side of the road as a went around a curve. I thought I missed them, but when I got home the sidecar windshield was covered with snot and blood. I must of clipped his nose. My son was about 6 or 7 at the time, and sleeping on the floor of the sidecar at the time.
A friend nailed a 550 pound pig with a Harley. He said it was the biggest pig he ever saw. The Tennessee Cop who responded said it wasn't even close. He said they don't even make the news unless they top 700! We still tease him about killing a pig with a hog. :p

Had a buddy hit a horse years ago on a Honda XL-175. His worse injury was when they slammed his hand in the ambulance door. He was so covered in blood (the horses) they thought he was bleeding to death.
Unfortunately we had a peace officer pass away from an accident involving an injured cow. While he was directing traffic around what everyone thought was a deceased cow, she got up and charged him. He suffered chest and head injuries, but after a few days in intensive care, he passed away. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in Texas, livestock still "legally" have the right-of-way on "farm-to-market" roads. Neglegence on the livestock owner's part has to be proven in order for the victim to have legal recourse. Around here we have to watch out for wildlife so much, we rarely have an accident like this.
