Hello all, I have been visiting the site for some time and I cannot remember if I ever introduced myself. Getting old is not for kids.....
My Road name is Gecko( do not do COLD) and the wife goes by Red. We are here in Central Texas enjoying the Hill Country every chance we get. We been pulling a trailer 8 years now. Started with a time out we had to rebuild after we used it the first time(big lesson learned), we now have a Trailmaster Aspen Classic 6 years now. It has been great. We have camped in central Texas and around Lake superior with the Time out (after rebuild) pulling with a 97 Vulcan 1500. Then we moved up to the Aspen and a HD FLHTCI mostly being used here in Texas. But are planning a trip for the summer to North Carolina.
Hope we can assist and look forward to continued ideas from all.
Thanks

NC will treat you well, just be careful, lock your stuff.

Its one of my favorite states but Florida and SC are above it in my mental list of places to vacation.

Welcome to the site Gecko and Red, looking forward to hearing more about your adventures. Lake Superior rocks but could do without the traffic.

Welcome from central Indiana.

I've enjoyed The Hill Country and San Antonio several times in the past. I like getting down there early in the year to see the wild flowers along the roads. My old ship has a plaque on the wall in The Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg.

You'll enjoy the ride around Lake Superior. It's a gorgeous ride. You can get closer to the lake on the Canadian side but the ride through the UP of MI is also very nice -- actually, one of my favorites. Good camping sites along the way.

The Tourist camp west of Munising is nice! It's right on the water and near town, the Pictured Rocks boat tour is a nice break from the road and relaxing but WET, if the waves are up..tip..sit in the middle of the boat, near the front.. trust me on this! HAHA!!!

LOVE that area and you will too! If ya like primitive camping, the state forrest c/g several miles from Brutus is great! EAT b'fast in Brutus at the restaurant.. there's only 2 stores there, the restaurant and the general store..don't laugh.. I did not realize there was a restaurant there til the next morning on my way out! HAHA!! I was tired and just wanted to get to my campsite.........make sure you do the Tunnel of Trees!! It IS a must!
