Just wondering, With the camper. Do I park in an RV spot, or will they let me park in a tent site? Difference in price?

All (state parks) I have stayed at I had to be in an rv site unless it was a private cg, there I could be in the tenting area.

Also you will run into some where the tenting area has to be walked to.

During my Alaska/Canada trip in 08 we stayed in RV parks most of the time. In all the rv parks we were mixed in with the rvs. Some of them did have seperate tenting areas and when they did we were able to stay there. In the state & Federal/Provinicial parks we stayed in tenting areas. The big difference in cost came if you needed electrical service. We always camped dry and kept the cost down. The down side of being mixed in with the revs is the honking big rv that pulls in about dark, right next to your site and they run their generator all night long!!!

Don't they have a time when they have to shut them off??If the park has electric, they won't run them. The thing I like is a clean bathroom, with hot showers.Everything else is a bonus

Most camprounds have a 10 pm quiet time but not everybody follows them, and yes they should use the parks electric but I think sometimes they have a new camper and just want to see if everything works. I always hate to camplain about noise thats why I try to get a campsite well away from where I think all the others would camp.

lets not forget about the idiot rv owner that thinks he's so special when he leaves at 9:00am that he has to blast his air horns that play Dixie to announce his departure grrrrr (met that idiot last summer)
gene-gary koa's generally allow grassy tent areas the only federal park i stayed at last year also allowed me to camp on the grass and now I'm going to call Ohio to find out I'll post that answer later today

I think I met this guy as well! He couldn't wait until he left to blast his, he wanted everyone to know he had them. He made the mistake of asking a few folks how they liked them. :lol I tried to be nice, I told him, "Oh, it's a shame you couldn't have gotten them mounted inside the cab, so you could enjoy every decibel for yourself". He just looked at me kind of funny, I don't think he got it. :p

Hmmm, must be me as I only grass camp in combat style. Well except a park near the Ozark Folk Center (on top of the hill). Otherwise it's an RV site for the price of a tent. That way I can charge the phone so I can make an ET thingy

Well, I think it's not fair to make you camp with the RV's, having nothing between you and their noise but fabric, but OTOH, you're in between tenting and RV'ing.
As long as you're on a bike and don't have a noisy kid or dog, I don't care if you camp near me. You're still camping.
An RV is a house.
