First I'll let you know what I'm after..
I'm looking for a down bag that's not a mummy bag.. I want ultra compression for packability, and I want room to move my legs around. Mummy bags drive me nuts..

Also, since I'm 6' tall and 250, I need some room, too..

I use good quality tents, so wetness from rain isn't an issue. I also use an inflatable mattress like you'd set up for a house guest, so I'm 5-6" off the floor, too.. I also usually bring along a fleece bag like you'll find at Walmart for $15. They're nice for warmer nights when you're laying on top of a bag, or extra insulation on cold nights.

Price is somewhat of an issue, as I'd like to keep it under $250ish.. I understand you get what you pay for..

Suggestions??

I picked this up on sale at the Coleman Outlet Store. When rolled up, it is half the size of my old sleeping bag. You can go to REI & get a fleece liner & still spend less than $200.

Love my Big Agnes Park Series bag. They make about 5 different tempature bags. Mine is suppose to be good down to -20?. Still works great in warmer temps. Just unzip or lay on top. Its what they call a "Wide Cut" You'll also need the Big Agnes air mattress that slips into the pocket on the bottom of the bag. It will run about the whole $250 you said was your limit.

Look in the product review "Sleeping Gear" section here in motocampers and you can see a small write up on the bag with links to Big Agnes.

What it is is an oversize mummy/ wide cut bag that you roll over inside rather than roll over with the bag. Im 6'2" 260 lbs. (and shrinking) and I have plenty of room. Shoulder girth is 80". I went ahead and bought the Wedge that adds another 7". Didn't need it but thought I would go ahead and get what ever accessories for it that were available.

This isn't a down bag so you might not be OK with it. Got mine at REI, had to special order it as they don't have them in store. Got the -20? only because I didn't know about the others. If I could do it all over again I'd probably go with the 15? bag. Although I did get the insulated aircore mattress instead of the Dual aircore mattress. I believe this makes the temp. rating 0? or 15? instead of -20?.

Yeah, I'm really looking for a down bag because of the extreme small size when stuffed. My last down bag was a North Face Blue Kazoo which stuffed down to smaller than a football.
I sold it because I wasn't using it anymore, due to it being a mummy bag.
