Last testride today, lumber loaded aboard. Absolutely fantastic: no sway, bounce, no wiggles, nuttin'. Aside of feeling that little bit of top-heaviness entering a sweeper, I took her down to the floorboards with no problem at all, ran up to 65 (in a 40 zone; didn't dare go more) and it just gets steadier - gyroscopic effect I guess.

The hitch arrangement is pretty fast to hook up despite nylock nuts to tighten. It too me exactly 10 minutes to pop off the saddlebags and put them back on with the hitch using hand tools only:

Yes, ... it does look good! P^
Despite a few 'set backs' during the learning curve of the build, it seems you got it all ironed out and ready to roll. Congratulations! :D

Planning any shake down runs with it to see how/where to pack your camping gear?

Definitely, after tags. And wanna see how it handles with the wife and full tilt gear aboard, but I'd actually like to just go camp if I take all the trouble of loading up all that stuff! We keep the pads and bags unrolled to stay fluffy. Soon as the wife can see - just had eye surgery.
Thanx for the flowers guys.
