I don't think that was to lucky for the rabbit. :D

Our mail"man" hasn't even been here in 2 days. I just got off the tractor , 4 1/2 hours to get the driveway cleared off enough to get the truck out.

That's 'cause your driveway is 500 MILES LONG!
I know, it took me two days to ride down it!

Does anyone carry some sort of Talisman or good luck charm while riding?

I've carried these for over 40 years ...
Although I'll admit to being in a few accidents, I'm here today, and not dead.
Could it be they have saved my life? ... Maybe ... ;)

Not really a good luck charm, but the ratty looking doo rag on my ugly head in this picture is usually on my head, in my pocket, or on the bike somewhere.

George, since you are snowed in and we're sharing, and I'm drinking, I'll tell ya the story of the ratty rag. Years back I was in Daytona for Biketoberfest with three of my closest friends. One night while at Dirty Harry's a crew of Jack Daniel's girls took to the outdoor stage with a bunch of goodies they were throwing to the crowd. I went to buy a round of beers and came back to the group and one of them was gone. I asked, "Where is Len?" They told me he had went down to the stage to score us some swag. I looked down near the stage and all I could see was what looked like a mob of college aged guys basically fighting over everything they threw off the stage. I thought there was no way he'd come back with anything other than a black eye. I finished off my beer and the one I'd bought for him, and went to get another round for us. As I'm walking back I see him grinning like an idiot carrying two doo rags, and two t-shirts. He hands me and my friend Larry a rag, as the shirts are too small for us. He and the other friend have the shirts as they fit them.

I wear the rag in remembrance of my friend Larry who everyone thought to be a picture of health, but died of a sudden, and massive heart attack. And to my friend Len who we almost lost to Cancer, but he fought the good fight on that too.

I have a small, (about 1"tall) green elephant that rides with me. He has velcro on his feet to attach him to the dash. Name is "Nick Dixon". Given to me by my God Daughter many moons ago.

We've got better than 200,000 miles in together on several bikes. So far, he's been a good friend!

I've tried to take pictures of Nick, you'll just have to see him in person....he's very shy.

I posted this recently on another site.

I have the same bell on my current bike that has been on every motorcycle I have ever owned. My father gave it to me in 1965 for my first Harley. I brought it home on my 14th birthday. My dad pulled it off of his Indian and said,"you are going to need this when your mother sees that". I have also walked away from every accident, including one that included sliding under a moving semi trailer. Far as I'm concerned, it works just fine.

Before the silly gremlin stuff starts, he never said anything about gremlins or potholes. When I first saw it on his bike I asked why it was there.
He just called it a good luck bell.
He said that every time he heard it ring he would think of a friend who wasn't lucky enough to be out riding with him, and every time he took it off and polished the brass, he thought of fallen friends he would never see again.
I guess I like that more than superstitions.
Mine has an inscription, "tangit vocem meam audit quime". Translated "Whoever touches me hears my voice".
When we get into some really spirited riding, my son, who never met his grandfather, will sometimes say, "Grandpa's really singing today".

We meet so many great friend on the bikes. It is hard to loose one. Hang on to the rag as long as you can but never forget the friend.
