With the discussion we've been having on setting up in the rain I thought to myself it
would be nice to have a different air mattress pump - the one I have now has to plug
into the bike to work.
I found this one by Ozark Trail at Wal-Mart for $20.
It's rechargable AND can plug into the bike both for recharging as well as working off
the DC, just like my current bike. It also comes with a cord to plug into an electrical
outlet.
I tested it real quick and it airs up my mattress faster than my current one. And,
I can keep it in my tent and use it to deflate the mattress as well.
It's just a little larger than my current pump but well worth it.

I used the same pump on a trip & it worked great. Inflates & deflates very quickly.
Wal-Mart does have some great small items for M/C camping.

How often did you have to recharge it? Just curious how many to expect before recharging..

Have not charged it yet to run off the battery. Just plug into the cigarette lighter.

That looks nice. You say it's a little larger than your current pump but... how big (small) is it?

I keep it in the box it came with which is 5"x5"x5" square.
The pump itself is 5"x4.5".

I have this same pump. It will inflate about 3 small camp size mattress between charges. Seems to hold a charge for a long time (months in my case).

Thanks. Yeah, got to get my priorities straight. Too much work not enough play. Bought a new to me 'bike and been spending too much time on the KLR650 site.

Work vs. play is a tough one. But a new KLR650 and time on the KLR forum qualifies! Those are good things! :D

I've used this pump on 3 camping trips so far and it does the intended job just fine. I usually charge it at home prior to leaving and it works fine inflating a queen size air mattress. Also use it to remove the air from the space storage bags that we use to put our pillows in. Next trip I might try using a large space storage bag for the sleeping bags to see if they compress more than using a compression sack. Our bags have Quallofil (or something like that) and don't compress down as small as a down-filled bag.
A buddy has the similar pump made by Coleman that uses batteries and he likes my pump better since it is rechargeable and costs less.
