Hey Everyone :)

I might have an opportunity to get my bike down to New Orleans for a quick break with some friends. We will most likely be basing in or near New Orleans and looking for day trips branching out in the area.

I did see one nice campground report for Bayou Segnette state park in the area.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated :)

Advice--can of bug spray. LOL. Can't help you with a nice day ride. For some reason I usually don't remember much about my few trips to the city of New Orleans.

Stay in the tourist areas and keep away from a club way off the beaten path called "Lulu Bells". Enjoy the French quarter in the city but take the time to explore the bayou. You'll never forget the people you'll meet.

I met a displaced family from "Katrina" in a campground that was the highlight of a 7000+ mile ride. Even though these people were essentially homeless, the woman of the "camp" was intent on feeding this old Yankee (me) grits.

Riding great roads is memorable but nothing compared to the people you meet on the road.
