Didn't know where to put this, so I will post here so you can move/delete/ to where ever it will belong.
I ran across a fellow ST'er's webshots album where he had pics of some custom lashing straps he made himself. Ironically, I had been thinking of something along the same lines, but took some ques from his straps as well. Then I began to search for places to buy the materials and planned on trying to find a local seamstress to sew it all up. I ran across the Strapworks.com (http://www.strapworks.com/)webstie and found all I was looking for - even custom work - at really good prices. I had several very friendly and helpful discussions via email with them where I sent them pics and descriptions of what I wanted. Not a problem and I now have a set of custom straps on the way to me for jsut a few dollars more than I would have paid for the materials in local stores.
I am not connected with them in any way, just ran across them and had a nice transaction.

I got the straps in a couple days ago and they are just like I wanted and actually "beefier" material than I had expected. One of the sections of strap was sewn wrong, so I emailed and got a very nice response. Here is the communication - great Customer Service in my book.
From Me:
I received my straps today and found that one of the 6" loop
straps does not have the twist - it is just a regular loop. I have
attached a picture. How can we remedy this?
From Strapworks:
Hello Jason,
I apologize, I sewed the straps personally and obviously made a mental
mistake. I will get another sewn for you today and shipped out.
Again I apologize for the mistake and the inconvenience.
