Working on what I will be bringing with me on the ride with Mellow at the end of the month. I know I will forget something but I?m trying to pack only thing I will use. I will still bring my tools and safety stuff and hope I don?t use them. :D

Name something you bring with you but never use.

A spare bike key, toilet paper and baby wipes. Never used any of these on trips but I keep them with me anyway! I usually pack a pair of decent slacks and a polo shirt (wife always puts them out just in case), but I never eat or go out anywhere to wear them.

Binocs & a bird book. I bring them and don't use them. But will I still pack them..... probably... cause I will use them.... honest!

In addition to the safety stuff (tools, tire plug kit, first aid kit) I always over-estimate how much reading I'm going to get done and pack too many things to read in the evening. :o

I always bring spare eyeglasses and happily have never needed them. Last June I brought along a pretty red and white checked plastic tablecloth to cheer up the campsite table, but my son would not let me use it, said it was too wimpy. So just to keep him happy, I left it packed away.

I always bring along my Kermit chair with leg extensions. Don't know why because most of the time we end up sitting around the picnic table instead. But it is nice to know I have a great place to sit if I need it. Left it behind once and missed it dearly. So I will continue to bring it along just in case.

I know this sounds crazy, but I used to bring the wife, but turned out she was excess baggage so leave her at home and bring an iPOD video to watch video's when it's raining.... 'course now I have to do my own dishes, but just use disposable instead.... Hey, works for me:tent8:

To late! She looked at the Mags Bags site ( where I bought my old bag years ago) and found a bag that sorta wraps around the rear seat and lays on the saddle bags forming a back rest and 2 arm rests. First thing she said is we will need another thermarest! I guess we will take a short camping trip before season is over then next year if all works out we will hit the road together. As she said Patrick will be in college next year and there is nothing left to keep her home. I can see it now, I get 1 spare set of outer clothes and 2 sets of under wear. the other 1/2 and saddle bag will be hair dryer, shampoo (she won't use regular soap), conditioner, face cream, the kitchen sink and so on!

Your only hope is to buy her her own bike, Mongo!

Lisa used to ride dirt, she is a little worried about cages to ride her own. I am slowly working on her and she seems to get a little more relaxed every ride.

Yeah... but, while towing that huge trailer you have room for all of *her* stuff!

I took the easy route... Chris is on an ST1300 and I'm on an ST1100.
Bliss! :-)

I carry the tent, and last time I carried the sleeping bags too...
