Ditto on the too hot to camp.
South Alabama is nowhere to be in July/August on a good year but this is turning out to be one of those draught/high temp years.
My camping trips are reserved mostly in the spring since the hurricanes restrict my time off in the fall.

I've been grateful for the drought- it's kept the humidity down for a change, and I don't have to cut my yard twice a week. OTOH, campfires have been banned at the state parks.

Motomac................how the heck have you been? No, I have not been camping. Waiting on the edge of my chair for some cooler weather. However, I did spend last week in Leadville, CO on a 4-wheeler ride in the mountains. Awesome. There were motocycles everywhere, however, and I cried a little every day for my ST1300.

Just did some camping:tent4: at the Davis Mountains State Park, where it got down in the 60's by midnight. Did some riding in Big Bend & on the FM 170 (River Road). Temperature was not bad till about noon, then it got really warm. 112  in Lajitas at about 3 PM.

Hi Slink! Welcome.
You should introduce yourself on the intro section. This site is young, but growing.
We would love to hear what you ride and what you pull.
It hasn't too hot camp up here on the north coast.... I just been busy with everything else. Gotta keep my Honey happy!

Howdy Slink,
'03 Candy Orange isn't it??? Sweet ride...... (no pun intended) Looks like you are pulling a no kidding camper trailer.. I pull one of two home built trailers depending on how much and how far.;) ;)
Where is Belton?? I know I've seen signs and maybe even been there. I have a real good friend that lives over by Marble Falls (Cape/Jackson area) There sure is some wonderful riding around there but this time of year the humidity usually matches the temperature. Nether one makes me feel much like camping.... :) :) :)
Jump on the introduction forum and give us an idea where you are coming from....:D :D

60+ hour weeks at my normal job, enough work stacking up for my shop on the side to work just as much, and preparing for a new baby, due in September.
I have a 3 week layoff starting August 14th, and I'm ready!!

Well Fotz, I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier, but I just returned from Elizabeth City NC Friday evening and had to teach a trike class in Chillicothe OH Sat. Saw 3 red ST 1100's and one '04 ST 1300 on the way home. Will be camping next weekend in Midland MI for the GWRRA MI rally. I'm sure your weather in LA is worse than ours here in OH, but NC was retched. High heat and humidity..... made me realize why I left SW VA 10 years ago. I will be going to that thing in Eurika Springs, will you??? Mac

Stopping in Santa Rosa New Mexico State Park tomorrow night and then Black Canyon of the Gunnison (near Montrose, CO) the next night. Then on to Golden Gate SP, CO for the next 4 nights. The somewhere in OK. Then Eureka Springs, AR for 2 nights.
Should be a hoot.
