My wife and baby girl are heading off to Camp Grandma next week, so I get to take my first (and possibly only) motocamping trip of the year from Thurs. to Sun.:) I'll be heading towards the Adirondacks first, including a visit at Adirondack Ural in Chestertown, NY. I'm considering getting on of those "Foil Head" hacks as an interesting second bike that might be fun for family riding at some point.

Next, I'll head up through Lake Champlain, possibly into Quebec, and then Vermont's route 100 all the way back down and eventually home in NE CT. I don't really know where I'll be camping - whatever place I'm closest to when I feel like shutting it down each day.

Is anyone going to be out in about in those areas? I'd welcome any good suggestions for campsites, food, etc.

Also, I have not crossed a Canadian border since before 9-11. What can I expect now if I go up there?

Have a safe trip... I'm afraid that's the only advise I can offer... Haven't been to Canada yet, or the north east...

Make sure you take your birth certificate or you may get a lot of hassle getting back into the US. Quebec is a very large Province, mostly French speaking folks. I've been told that all the natives can speak English, but most I've talked to feign English and talk in French. Even at McDonald's. The road signs are in French and some in English. Roads are good, but boring, it is pretty flat up there.
