Arrived about 4 :30 pm. Sign at Park entrance said it was open but sign at campground said full but there were about a dozen sites available. Cost $20. Rules say 2 vehicles and 2 tents but we put 4 motorcycles and 3 tents on one and no one complained. They shouldn't because it's much smaller than a diesel pusher with tow car. Restaurant at the Apgar Village was excellent (+++ beefallo cheese burger). The ride over Going to the Sun highway was spectacular even with all the construction.

We stayed there with 2 bikes, one car and three tents and nothing was said. We were there in the last week of June and the GTTSR was closed about midway, due to snow clearing operations still underway
Nice campground with deer roaming through, during the twilight hours.

When you going. I'm heading that way planning about the middle of the month but not too tight on time. Maybe we could ride together a ways.

We just came back from there. Many of the campgrounds are first come first served. Apgar does not take reservations. Check the website for more information. http://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/camping.htm

Stayed here again with 2 other Biking Buds on July 7 and again we were shut out from riding the Going To The Sun Road, due to the above average snow pack..
Price was $20/night, which included a picnic table, fire ring, flush toilets and water nearby.
Weather was 'mainly' sunny, lower 80s with a few 'sprinkles' thrown in now and then, to welcome me back into the mountains. Typical mountain weather.

I returned again on Aug 25/11 by myself this time and as the old saying goes - "Third time's the Charm" and finally got to ride The Going To The Sun Road, not once, but three times, as this time I left Glacier NP via TGTTSR/East Glacier.
On this visit, the Camp Hosts were more like Zealots concerning food left out at the campsite. I had just arrived and set up camp and was gone no more than 15 minutes, as I walked down to their site to pay for the night. As I got back to my site, she was snooping all around my site and when I walked into the site, she started going on about food storage. I explained to her that I had just arrived and was down paying my fee and was going to set my food in one of the few bear boxes that they are starting to install in the park. She 'grunted' and said she was going to leave me a 'Nastygram' about the food. WTF! only there for less than a half hour and they are already all over me!
Anyway, they ride up n over TGTTSR was worth her minor 'annoyance'!
