Spent two nights at this state park this weekend. It is located in the western Maryland panhandle. Very beautiful area. I consider this a large state park. The 248 acre lake is larger than I had imaged. I found out once I got there that there is a golf resort there too. The park has all the amenities including a country store, kayak, canoe, paddle boat rentals, etc. The shower house was about 200 ft. from my campsite. There is a small dam which I hiked below to the creek. I really enjoyed the creek which was very cold. The only downside was that I could hear the interstate while hiking around the lake.

Looks like there may be beavers in the park.

Welmack,
It is very beautiful out here on the east coast. I grew up in Killeen Tx, just a little bit southeast of you guys and really enjoyed the Tx hill country. Texas is beautiful in it's own right. Can you imagine a 15 year old boy with a Suzuki 50 stumbling across this site below Stillhouse Hollow Dam? I grew up there way before anyone noticed. Now it is a "park" with no vehicles or camping allowed. Heh Heh... I beat the trend...
BTW: I just have to visit the canyon lands just north of you guys...
