So, have you tried the "Sportstracklive" app? Or any other that you like.

I have downloaded several apps for hikers / joggers, but (i'm sorry to report) i just havent tested any of 'em, yet.

MapDroyd and the maps downloaded fast for me.
Is it running ok for you?
I'm in Colorado at the.moment, and found it very useful.
Also , as i don't know my way around Boulder; i have for the first time been using the turn-by-turn navigation in Google maps. It works very well. Just plugged in one earbud.

And lastly, a smart phone friend showed me his applications...... and "Back Country Navigator " is REALLY neat... using topography maps, and the GPS function , it tracks your route, in real time, and keeps a record. Great for hiking.and mtn biking (topography maps to much info for road-riding, prolly) Maps are VERY detailed, and run offline (downloading maps onto phone)
