Where were you able to camp out in the open in Terlingua?? I camped in study butte at the big bend motor end and it was ok. I wanted to stay out in the Natl. Park but the event I was there for was in Lajitas so I stayed in Study Butte to be closer to everything.
Next time I'm down there I'm taking my DR350 and doing some backcountry camping.

Technically the area I was in belongs to the Terlingua Ranch POA. I was at an event hosted by a property owner and thus had access to camp. I'm with you about the N.P. camping. I have several times and the primitive camping is incredible. Camped once on Glenn Springs Road and had one vehicle pass by all day. The park was full except for two primitive sites - outstanding!
