Hi,
Just finish a 2000 mile, 6 day ride with my son and one of his friends. We are all on DR650’s This was their first long distance/ multi day motorcycle trip. We were all equipped to camp everyday.
Day 1
Left from Corona, CA at 7:00am headed to St George. Straight up the 15. 325 miles
The DR’s are set up well and had no problem at a true 70 MPH. Very windy most of the day.

Day 2
Left St George, went to Toweep and back to Kodacrome basin. This was the best day of riding. Both Ray and myself ended up in the dirt at different times.
Lot’s of dirt time and the weather was good, not quite as windy. Camped at Kodacrome basin. Great camp ground.

Got to Page, AZ, let the rangers know about the stranded guys and headed on. The weather was really bad by then and we decided to loop around to Monument Valley.
Ended up at Monticello, UT for the night.

Day 6
Left Torrey and over the pass. About 1.5 of new snow on to Boulder and the Burr Trail. When about 25 miles down the Burr Trail and turned around headed back to Bryce Canyon. While in Bryce it began to snow really hard.

Left there and continued to Zion NP. Rode thru the park and continued to Mesquite for the night. Long day of riding and the weather was the worst. As we went thru Zion, the temperature began to climb. It was actually very warm by the time we got to Mesquite.
Day 7
Headed home. Very pleasant ride. Left 6:00 am to beat the heat.
We did not camp as much as I wanted to. The weather didn’t cooperate much and I caught a bad cold the 3rd day. The boys did an exceptional job on this ride. It was an adventure for sure.
Looking forward to doing some additional adventure touring soon.
Thanks Tom
