What a great place. An incredible value and they really cater to whatever you need in the way of a nice gathering.. firewood already cut... grills, tire changer... a really nice couple...

Oh.. watch out for the skunk.. THEY say it's a small dog but don't be fooled... LOL

I was pleased at how Lori and Jack really play host. They go out of their way to make sure everyone is taken care of, and that the facilities are in proper order for a memorable experience. When Lori came out with grilling utensils, I thought we were in for a treat. She was just making sure we had what we needed to grill.

This was my first campout with MotoCampers and I left with very warm feelings of new found friends. What impressed me the most was how everyone cooks, bakes and shares food with everyone. Next time, I'll be better prepared to share some of my "cooking."

I have to agree, excellent place to camp, I will be back! Not a lot of places offer free coffee, ice, laundry, and nice showers for such a great price! P^

If I may add my two cents. Jack and Lori Hunt are the greatest. Not only do they offer so much to their guest they even make it a point to have their neighbors dog come down to welcome everyone. Jim (Mellow) thought it was a skunk....but that little rascal jumped up into my lap wanting to get a little personal attention and to be petted....I can assure you ...were it a skunk that little critter wouldn't be back home yet from his trip into outerspace.

I do hope that the members of this forum can help these folks along as they develope their campground. It is a rare occurrence when I get the feeling that I didn't pay enough for the service I received!

+1 on Hunt's Lodge.

I see they planted young trees in the upper camping area about 9 feet apart . Glad they are thinking ahead for the next generation of hammock hangers too.

Actually, it was pure luck that some of them wound up at proper hammock distance. I bought a trailer load of trees two years before we opened and I rented a Bobcat with a hydraulic drill on the front, fitted with a 24" auger. The day I actually drilled the holes for the trees, it was raining cats and dogs and some small livestock. I ran around the terraces and along the property lines drilling big holes just willy-nilly all over the place and getting drowned in the process. The place looked like a war zone with mortar holes all over the hillside. By sheer luck I drilled exactly as many holes as the number of trees I had on the trailer. I think it was 24 but I really can't remember.

The next two years were some of the worst droughts we've ever seen. Four of the willow trees died and several more of various species were stunted. I had 5-gallon buckets of water at the base of each tree with a 1/8" hole drilled in the bottom of the bucket. I'd drag a hose all over the place filling buckets every day, but four of the trees died anyway. The grass was so dry we were afraid it would catch on fire if we mowed it. Today I noticed that some of the trees have almost doubled in size since we planted them. They're not big enough to hold a hammock yet, but it won't be long.
