Hey, everyone! I made my first post last year and I'm sorry I didn't keep at it.........

I've been moto touring and camping since my first overnight ride back in the early 90's on my 1988 Honda Shadow 600. I traded for a '92 Suzuki Katana 750 and traveled several places on it during my last years in college. For a full-time student, working 3rd shift for 46 hours a week, and mostly being a weekend warrior....... I thought touring 12,000 miles in 2 years wasn't bad. In '94 I got the bike that I still have today........ the KLR 650 (Barbie)! I've only got about 30k miles on it over the last 16 years, but they have been good miles. I'm active in the KLR forums, but look forward to being more active in MotoCampers.

Here are pics from my first post.......... http://www.motocampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1351

Also, I hope I get to see some of you guys at Chill-Out! We are over at CMR for Tour de Tellico V............but hope to make it by to say hello!

Welcome back Chuck! Great looking Barbie you have there. I missed out on one before I bought my Wee. I'm still toying with the idea of trading the Wee for a KLR, DR, or XR in the future if I can find a nice used one at a decent price. I'll have to tell the wife it followed me home.

Hi Chuck,

Hope to see ya at the Chill Out. And yea, you need more miles on that KLR. If you see a heavely loaded blue DR while there, stop and say "HI".

There are still a lot of us guys that use the KLR as our only Bike........... the old saying is it does nothing great, but everything pretty well!

If you can afford multiple bikes, several of our KLR guys end up trading for the V or Wee-strom for the street and a used DRZ 400 for the dirt.
