Hi Everyone,
We are just getting started with 2-up camping and have been reading threads on your site. You all have given us loads of useful information and we wanted to say hello and thank you.
We just upgraded to an Ultra Classic (from a 2005 softail we have for sale now!) so that we have room for everything. We do have an RV and will still use it as well depending on the trip because we have two french bulldogs that like to camp.
We are looking forward to doing some weekend tent camping in GA/NC/TN/VA mountains over the summer. We are also planning to go to East Coast Sturgis this year in western Maryland.
This weekend I will be working on getting the toiletries/first aid packed and then moving on to other things. Your pics will be a big help in getting us organized an on the right track!

Ah come on ... Do both. The chill out isn't far from where you are ... It would be a good spring shake down trip. P^

G......We are booked on the same dates at a campground already & have plans to meet up with some friends from our local Sunday ride group. :)
We will get over to that area the week of July 4th though. We are staying at Punkin Center campground. I am looking forward to hearing about some ride routes that you all recommend for that trip.
Certainly will be watching for the next group camp trip though now that we have found you all!

I'm with you Bob, wife would rarely take a trip with me on the bike. Not sure how I would do it anyway. I think the biggest thing is trying to pack two sleeping bags. Solo it's not bad, because you have the back seat. Plus I always pack a cover for the bike and that takes up almost one saddle bag by itself. Actually tools, cleaning supplies and cover. She can easily take up the T-bag thats strapped top the luggage rack I get the other saddle bag and the that only leaves what you can strap to the T-bag on the saddle bag?
Maybe a tent, plus that means, we wearing are helmuts. Geez not a lot of room left.......where the heck do you put two bags and mats??? Got me

Where there is a will ... There is a way.
I've seen people come up with some pretty ingenious ways to pack stuff on a bike in order to get it to where they wanted to camp.
Years ago I'd take my girlfriend on week long camping trips on my Superglide, with only a pair of throw over saddlebags, and a small luggage rack, years before they invented "T" Bags.
Got by just fine with a pup tent and one sleeping bag.

Howdy neighbor! I'm in the Richmond Virginia area. I have a 09 ultra, so I'd love to co-learn packing tips. Wife doesn't camp so I have the luxury of a back seat for books and other items I seem to keep with me.
A group of riders that I was with at Nags Head Bike week were talking about the East Cost Sturgis, but we haven't done any additional planning.
Hey Bob, Long time since I posted this hello, thanks for the welcome.
Between work and play I had not logged in here for a couple of months. We actually traded the Ultra for a Road Glide---but we are still headed for EC Sturgis next week. Did you and your friends decide to go? I was just reading posts on here about a rain/shade fly....thinking we should get one.
