Hey everyone, new to the forum and I thought it was time to post. Lot's of great reading. It's been a while, since I've camped. Most of the stuff we did when the kids were growing up was in a 38' Diesel Pusher. Roughing it was when the satelite didn't work. I'm not sure on the pulling a camper with a motorcycle, but can see how it would make the stay a lot more comfortable verses being in a tent, plus you can store more gear. I know when we did camp there were a lot of parks in and around our area with clean showers etc. I'll have to keep reading and see the pro's and cons (at 50I'm looking for comfort).Plus as we get older or at least I feel, there's so much out in this world to see and enjoy. I love hoping on the bike and going, might be a little better if I had a riding buddy, that could get away and do the camping thing also. Most of the guys from our shop, are more "Harley" riders and hotel people.
I've also notice on this forum, Pictures are very slow to load when you want to see them larger? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance , and here's to a safe and fun summer!!!

You bet Mellow that was the problem. Looks like it's not a very active site. Your also on the Pashnit? Was looking to interact a little more on this site. As I said I'm really getting the itch to do some camping. Just don't know if my Ultra is the right bike, maybe I'll pick up a ST for a little tour riding?

It's not the amount, but the quality of participation here.

Don't worry, everyone here is friendly, just jump in. No one is excluded from any of the events so again, just jump in.. lots of Harley's, Wings, STs, dual sports, etc on the site so the bike doesn't really matter.

Bigdoghd,
Harley riders ARE NOT snubbed here, It was just your imagination ... :p
You have my personal invite to the Chill Out in Tennessee.
You won't be alone with your Harley, Deb & I will both be bringing one ...
Come on down, there'll be lots of frendly forum members there to meet, and some great roads to ride. P^
Just don't pitch a tent next to Mellow or Trailace ... they like to play practical jokes with Doritos ... also want to watch out for Mr. Guy and his bear ...

Actually guys, from reading the forum I already knew you guys were a good bunch. I met Mellow a while back when there was a lost Goldwing rider out west. I was involved alot with the PD and attorney Generals Office (X-PD). Mellow is a stand up guy in my book. I'm just not sure on the whole camping thing yet. Loved it with my motorhome and I had a hard sided pop up that was awesome. Plus it is a good ride from Chi-Town, would probably be going solo, not unless someone was riding from this area? I will say it sounds pretty tempting

Well bigdog,
You won't know if you like the camping till you try it. Grab a sleeping bag and a cheap tent and come join us and give it a try.

We actually have a cottage in Michigan near Lundington. Did around the lake trip I think it was a year ago or two. It was great time really enjoyed it and went with a few good guys, that didn't drive balls to the walls.Very laid back!
This next trip everyone has planned i sure in one beautiful area, that's for sure!Funny kast few nights I really have had the itch and have trouble sleeping with out thinking tents, camping and reflecting on some good old times.
