Late 2006 or Early 2007 Moto Campers Campout?

Joe does all the work around here and its time I do something to help out. Several members have mention of having a Moto Campers campout and I think that?s a great idea. So I made up this poll to find out when and where we would have the best participation. This first poll will just be to narrow it down a little and get us talking about it. We might come up wit a few campouts in different areas and times. :D

Thanks Rick... I'm probably good for Oct/Nov but only have a day of vacation left and will make distance a problem... but that shouldn't affect anyone else getting campouts scheduled.

I was primarily thinking this first year would just be a building year where we fill the reviews up and make friends then do more campouts in 2007 but I'm glad others are already wanting to camp sooner..

Heck, most of us camp in groups of 2-5 and that typically consitutes an 'event' so even if just a few get together, it's a success.

Sounds like DonD is going to hook his rotisserie up! As far as I go My company is in the process of changing hands and I cannot carry over 4 weeks this year just 2 weeks of vacation, just set a location/date and if I am not on call I will be there.

I have a lot of GW rallies I'm signed up for until October, but then I'm ready for anywhere, anytime. October is a great month to camp just about anywhere in the country. It is warm during the day and at night a little chill, but not real cold and usually no snow.

We could have a Fall Color ride through Arkansas/Missouri in October... hmmmm... this is looking like it might be a great get together. I'll only have 1 day of vacation so I'll probably be able to get to the area Thursday night, ride Friday/Saturday then home on Sunday.

I plan on a fall ride(s) in Arkansas/Missouri this year whether or not it's a group thing or not! NW Arkansas in October is a visual wonderland... I have a bit of trouble concentrating on the roads as the scenery is just too much!

Any more thought been given to a Moto Campers Campout? I won't commit to anything yet... but I just might be able to make something fit my schedule. I suspect it would be a big road trip from my house.... but what the heck.... I like to ride.:)

If anyone is interested in having a campout in the Gatlinburg, TN, Cherokee, NC, Blueridge PKWY area, let me know. We can't make AR, MO this year, but we could make the above mentioned areas and I would be more than happy to coordinate with campgrounds, etc. There are some nice Motorcycle only campground on the Blueridge.

I think I'm done for the year after my big trip.. won't really have enough vacation time left for anything. Next year, I'm planning on doing more camping trips to help promote the site more.

If you guys want to plan something, just do it... no reasn why there can't be an event in the southwest as well as one in the Smokies or AR...

If anyone is interested in having a campout in the Gatlinburg, TN, Cherokee, NC, Blueridge PKWY area, let me know. We can't make AR, MO this year, but we could make the above mentioned areas and I would be more than happy to coordinate with campgrounds, etc. There are some nice Motorcycle only campground on the Blueridge.

If anyone is interested in a Arkansas campout I don't live down there but we have occationly visited Eureka Springs. Kettle campground is bike friendly very nice folks they ride and they have cabins TP's nice RV and tent sites. Lets do something in OCT let me know and I'll set it up.
After I get an indication of how many I'll get ahold of them and see whats open in OCT. Oh yes there is a Motel right accross the street for those Non campers.
I will get all the Tle #'s so you can make reservations. I will try to block so many but you have to tell me what kind of site you want Etc.
Nice riding down there too.

I already have a comittment for October but don't let me stop you. ES sounds like a great Fall Colors ride - we'll be camping at Kettle Campground for the NatSTOC event in about 3 weeks.

I'll try to do a better job next year but this year all my vacation is allocated to my 'big ride' that I start this Friday... boy, is it hard to get into work.

Slink lets go ahead and pick a date/campground and I will put in for vacation. I will let you pick the date and place since I am not familiar with AR exception of buzzing through to the rockies. I guess I pass up good roads looking for roads I heard others talk about. I am going to have to make my long trips more like my short ones, spend half of the aloted time off getting lost then pull a map out and find myself! I think if we keep this thing going others will show.

You may not get much participation this fall, but keep at it and it will grow. I myself cannot make it anytime this year, but I hope to get down that way next summer. Ya never know!

I am on mandatory OT untill March, have to miss the Texas hill country ride. Count me in on the April ride.

I'm limited to the summer months (June, July, August), but if anyone is interested in a Moto Campers West, I'd be glad to set something up. Lots of great places in Utah, Idaho, etc. I'll watch here for any interest.......

If you reply expressing interest, please suggest a couple of dates or time frames also.

There is CampSToc III April 19-22 @ Trenton, GA.... which is shown on ST-Owners.com

I have a window in my schedule for that event and hope to get out of New York in mid-April. I plan to ride down the BRP to get to this campout. This could be a good candidate for a Spring camping event.

My only real concern is a snow/ice storm preventing me from getting out of NY (or back home) during this time of the year.

(I believe Mellow is going on this trip too)

I have CampSTOC on my schedule also. Maybe we'll need several dates and locations because of everybody's schedule and distance restrictions.

My trip plans for the year include undefined location in March, CampSTOC in April, Colorado in June, Blue Ridge Gathering in October.

Come on guys let's put in some locations and dates and see what turns up.
