Has anyone had any experience with "Batteries Unlimited" replacement batteries? There is a big difference in price between these and the OEM Yuasa batteries. I don't mind paying for the pricer battery so long as it is worth it.

My stock fjr battery lasted almost 5 years, so I bought another oem from yamaha at $116. It's a semi gel-cell and well worth the extra money for as long as it lasts. Strange how a battery just goes without warning when it goes bad.

I've still got the OEM battery in my '03 DR650. But it is starting to turn just a little bit slower. I'm going to replace it with another Yuasa before any big trips this summer.

I went with a Scorpion battery from Batterystuff.com after Eric sent me a link, and it's been doing great in my 650 Strom. It started the bike all winter without being on the tender, but I ride year around.
Here is the link for your FJR on their site. It's maintenance free for $66.00

Thanks for all the help...it is nice to be able to ask a question like that on this forum. Had I done that on the FJR Forum I would have got maybe one decent response and the rest sarcastic crappy "non-answeres". So with that said when I see you all at the Chill Out I'll be happy to show you all my new "Westco" battery. That is if the "wagon train" that is bringing it back east gets here in time for me to leave. Thanks again...I really appreciated the positive input. The OEM battery is still in the bike a 06, but it is very touchy...I need to keep it on the tender when the bike is not in use...which is rare. It got me the other day here at the house....I left the key on for a very short time...and it died!

Haven't you heard that you can't believe anything you read and only half of what you see with your own eyes? :D
But then again, sometimes rumors do seem to be true. P^
See you guys there, after I get my new battery, Guy.
