I'm in Connecticut, and I usually can manage about five days for a trip. Is Nova Scotia doable and worth it?

Have never been, but what I have heard about it, Yes, it is very worth it. As far as time, depending on where you are and how far you ride in a day, it could be 4 days just in riding time there and back.…so. You would have to possibly decide if more time is allowable. One day there would not be enough for me, too much to see.

My BMW club is planning a trip there in Sept. They are planning for 7 or 8 days with a chase Van and staying at Motels. They're thinking about 1 day to Portland, staying for Dinner and exploring, and catching the Ferry in the morning. I wouldn't mind a camping/Motel combo deal. When are you planning on going?

I guess your group better rethink their route as The Cat ferry from Portland/Bar Harbour to NS, is no longer in service, due to the NS Provincial government no longer subsidizing this run!

I think you'd be better off when you have ten days to explore NS/NB. There is a lot to see/do/ride P^
I'll be leaving Hamburg NY on July 16 and taking 11 days to moto-camp across NY, VT, NH, ME, NB and into NS, riding Cape Breton Island (Cabot Trail) and then on up through NB and around Quebec's Gaspe Peninsula, before heading over to the North shore of the St Lawrence and on back to the GTA.

I know I can get to Bar Harbor, ME in about eight or nine hours. I'll have to look at some maps and see what I come up with.

Here are 3, of many, good websites to help you re-think your time and plan your trip. If it were me, from your area, I’m thinking more like ten days to do a trip like this.

I went in 2007.
we rode the whole way round, as we were too cheap to take the ferry :D
it doesn't take that much longer, and the Fundy coast in New Brunswick is very nice.
I have attached the Garmin file from our trip.
We found a great camp spot on the shore in Pugwash, lovely sunset!

Great place to travel!
Don't know about the camping part,,,,but I loved the scenery and the local freshly prepared food. I would really like to return on my wee instead of the cruiser I was riding......
If you go through St. John don't miss the reversing waterfall. And you could take the ferry from there.
I thought it was a great place for motorcycling. Courteous drivers.
