Location:
From Greers Ferry, AR, take SR 16 1/4 mile north and follow signs into the campground.
Greers Ferry, AR

Date of visit:
May, 2006

Weather:
A little warm during the day and we thought it was going to be too hot at night but it cooled off just enough for a comfortable night.

Campground Condition:

This is a very nicely kept campground with paved roads that are kept clear.
The bathroom/shower facilities are very clean, however this campground gets a little crowded during the weekend.
There were very few animals in this campground, many many Blue Jays and some Owl at night.
Note: Don't use Sites D4, D7, D9 or D11, they are on an incline and no fun if you plan on setting up a tent. Sites D5, D6, D8 and D10 are on a flat level area and fine for tent camping. The Primo sites are C6-C17.Area Riding:

As Joe mentioned C6 through C17 are primo, with C12 being creme de la creme. I wish now I had taken a picture of it when we wre foraging for fire wood. What a unique site!!!

Devil's Fork is indeed a very nice campground, and will hopefully see me again. I think D2 was a preferred site with lots of level ground, plenty of space, and closest to the shower house. Can't remember C12 very well.

Animals in campground did include some squirrels that ate their share of Mac's baloney & bread & all of my splenda. And, for those city boys from Dallas, the bird making all that noise during the night was a whip-poor-will.

You know, I kinda figured that the picture of the nomad with a tent on his back would find it's way onto the internet. Just who is that fool? Must be some motorcycle wannabe trying to hook up with the real riders! :)

JOE where's my avitar gone????

Mac, Avatars aren't displayed for comments to reviews, keeps the bandwidth down and supposed to make it easier to drill through the comments faster.

I don't think there is a quick option to have them show up again but I'll look.

Ditto on previous comments with some notes...

The 'C' sites will be crowded and are close together, but more open. The 'D' sites are not on the waters edge but not far from it and are very wooded. D2 is the preferred site if you want to be away from the boat launch and swimming area (lots of traffic). D2 is very flat and can accomodate several tents easily. The park allows 4 tents per site at $15/night. With a little planning to share a site or two a large group can stay very cheap.

The surrounding area has great roads! Most of the better ones are north and west of the park.

I think we need an option to rate the park personnel/host/ranger. This can give valuable insight to how M/C friendly a park is also. By the way, our host for that week said that we were great ambassadors for the riding community! Guess we didn't get too out of line!

Great Idea - just added that option, if you go back you should be able to edit your rating and add the rating for the personnel/host/ranger attitude. Thanks!

BJ was able to... not sure why you can't... I'll see if I can figure it out.
