I'm the kind of guy that would ride a TW200 to a Moto Guzzi Rally.
Actually, I attended the Wisconsin Guzzi Rally on the TW because it was being held near the start of the Trans Wisconsin Adventure Trail (http://www.lonewolfexpeditions.com/twat.html). On Sunday when everyone else was heading home, I headed a few miles south to the WI/IL border so I could begin Chad's odyssey of using the 'backest' of roads to run from the Southern edge of Wisconsin to the most Northern. The plan was to do it in a couple of weekends. I didn't make the half way point the first weekend (details in the photos) but started at the half way point a few weeks later and now hope to go back and fill in the gap this season.
'had a very good time and would like to go do it again.
Friday on the way to the MG Rally.

Geez Doug,
Next year stop and introduce yourself. I'll be at Lake Joy, on or near site 33. Look for the Bunkhouse and a red flag with a skunk on it. I've got a 99 Moto Guzzi with license MG4ME right now, but I'm thinking of moving back to a Goldwing if the right deal comes along. This is what it looked like last year, but I just sold the sidecar.

Mike,
Were you at Road America last summer for the AHRMA races? Pretty sure I remember your rig at Lake Joy.
And thanks, I definitely will. Doug

Nope. I think that was the same weekend as the Skunk Rally in Cameron. My two Gotta Go Rallies each year, are the Skunks http://www.skunktails.com/ and the WMGR http://www.wmgr.org/ .

There's 10 now, 9 that go and crowded together they're worth what one of yours is. Mrs. Coopdway keeps removing my Craigslist bookmarks, hopeful but there are times my memory is better than others.

Here are my 3 newest ones, the one in the middle has a broken kick starter shaft, right at the outside of the case (guess which one doesn't run??)

When the season finally returns, all I want to do is ride but winter is long and I've been having fun working with these. My very first machine was a yellow '64, just like these '62 and '63 C105 Trail Bikes. It was 1967 and I had put a lot of miles on before I was supposed to be doing so.

Gotta love the classic Hondas! P^ I still have the 2nd bike I've owned. I need to go drag the mighty Honda SL70 and what parts are left of it out of the shed at my Mom's and bring it home. That little bike started my love for riding, and got me into lots of trouble as a youngster! P^

The TW will get the job done and then some. It's nice to have a bike that will get you into and out of some rough terrain. It ain't fast but then who's in a hurry and you miss a lot of scenery at seventy or eighty.
I turned over 29,000 mi yesterday on my 07'.

How big is that tank on yours? The seat looks a good bit wider than it. ;)
I'm interested to see how XT will do...

All TWs have a 1.8 gal tanks unless they have been modified. You can get between 120 and 150 mile on a tank of gas. Most people if they need more range carry an additional fuel can of some sort. The bikes are capable of a hundred miles per gal on the right roads and speed. Generally mileage is in the 80mpg range.

Steve, I still have a complete 1969 Honda Z-50 in the garage. Oh the miles I enjoyed on that little tank. One of these days Im going to restore that bike, just because it deserves it.
There are tons of sites about these old hondas, that can supply you with anything you would ever want for your SL.

Thanks for that link Eric! P^
My first bike was a Z-50 that got traded for the SL70. I sure had a lot of fun on those two bikes.

Many of us Tdubbers are waiting for the Clarke company to come out with a larger tank, something they've been promising now for months. Other owners not content to wait or willing/able to modify on their own have converted other model tanks.
I carry a Kolpin ATV tank on a rear mount but am on the list for one of the new (hopefully) ~4.0 gallon plastic ones from Clarke. Riding mine the way I do on big mileage days would sure justify the cost of the upgrade.

I generally just stop every 100 miles or so and fill up. This part of Texas isn't desolate. I do carry a 22 oz. fuel bottle (MSR) just in case. For those times I get out in the waste lands where there may not be fuel available I carry one or two of these CZ 1 gal oil cans.
