Who's up for a mid-July camp-out in Washington?

I've just made a reservation at Dash Point State Park in Federal Way, Wa for July 16-17, 2010.
http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/?selectedpark=Dash+Point

The attraction? Well, the ride of course! Oh, and did I mention there's an air show going on at McChord AFB Fri-Sun. Yeah baby!!
There's room for 2 more tents. You coming? You know you want to!

So far the lineup is shaping up like this...
Patriots Jet Team
Mig Fury Fighters
Jacquie B
CAF P-51 Red Tail
Tim Weber <--- Sort of an acquaintance of mine. Well, an over the phone acquaintance. Long story I can tell around the campfire.
John Klatt (ANG)
USO Jet Car
Kent Pietsch (jelly belly)
T-33 Ace Maker

In addition we can expect the following military participation:
C-17 Demo
C-17 3 ship airdrop demo
ACC demo
Heritage Flight
Navy Demo
Navy Legacy
Airfield assault
Warbird Review

ITINERARY:
7/16 (Friday) I figure I'll get off work a few hours early that afternoon and take the superslab to get up there (departing from the Portland, OR metro area) and set up camp.
7/17 (Saturday) Spend most of the day at the airshow (McChord AFB, Tacoma).
7/18 (Sunday) will be a leisurely, back-roads trip home. I'm open to route suggestions from anyone else who's headed southward!

I'm figuring on a mix of cooking in camp and eating out but I lean toward mostly campsite meals. It's all negotiable.

I procured an RV camp site for 3 reasons.
I like blacktop to pitch my dome tent on (clean, dry, level).
Running water on-site -- very handy for cleaning up from cooking.
AC power on site (super handy to recharge phones, headsets or whatever else might need juice)
The site is conveniently located near shower/restroom.

I'm posting this to another list too so if you want dibbs on a spot, get yer calendar checked and drop me a note asap.
The campsite fees split three ways would be just $20 each. I MIGHT be able to procure some air show tickets too but I won't know that til much later on.

There's room for 2 more tents. Who's with me?

RSVP!

Check with the park before you go.There is one Washington State Park that does not allow tents in utility sites.
I don't thik that applies to all the parks, but you might want to check.

I wish I could join you,but I work in Alaska in the summers.:(

Thanks for the heads up Jeff.
I've verified that Dash Point is not one of the parks that's particular about what equipment you set up at a particular site.

Tents are definitely a go for July 16-18.

Any takers out there?!

I wish I could go, but I've got 3 other m/c events elsewhere during that time period. Dash Point is about 10 miles from my house.

I too have an event that weekend. Same weekend as the BMW MOA National in Redmond Oregon. The site for the event mentions that airshow. :)

Keith,

I'm looking forward to meeting you at the BMWMOA rally in Redmond. I'll be on a little F650GS.

I'll leave the rally and head for the ADVRider Mt1000 in Darby.

OK. Thanks for sounding off, guys.

Howz this sound for a Plan B?:

I also have procured a yurt reservation at a Josephine County park (about 13 miles from Grants Pass) for Independence Day Weekend!
Yurt reservations are getting harder and harder to snag. They're catching on and folks plan ahead!

Looking for some companions for this run too!

Not sure if my son will be along or not. Either way, the thing can sleep five so there's plenty of room for some tagalongs?

Anybody up for that one?

Cheers!
David
