Hi all, I'm been playing with my new bunkhouse in the garage and I have a few questions I'm hoping someone can help with.

1. If you use a memory foam mattress topper does it need to be removed before closing up the camper?
2. When you leave a campsite when things are wet where do you store your ground cover for the floor bottom?
3. Does anyone know which color wire does what on the harness sent from Bunkhouse? I have a plug & play harness for my Harley but I need to attach the plug on the Bunkhouse harness.
4. What's the most important thing to avoid when closing up the camper to avoid damaging anything?

I watched Ken from Bunkhouse set it up and take it down once, setting up is a piece of cake but taking it down without damaging the canvas seems a little more complicated. I'm sure it will be equally easy after a few times.

WOW!!!! No wonder Mac can be set up so quickly & down the road so fast in the morning. I can barely get my tent out of the bag & laid out in the time it takes to set that up. The actual time to complete setup is considerably longer for me.

Well VFR, Looks like you need to get yourself a Bunkhouse also. We'll help you get it ready for the road!P^

I don't think my bikes would tow one real well. I'll save that for when I get a Gold Wing. Been a couple of times when I wished I had one though.

Glad you got your new bunkhouse I know you will grow to love it as I do mine.
Lets start with the wiring,
White = Ground
Brown= Tail and Running
Yellow = Left turn
Green = Right turn
Red = Brake Lights
Blue is an extra and not always used. Lots of us run it to a small battery for 12 volt accessories if used.
As for the extra thickness of the memory foam, it will make it harder to close the bed side of the camper if you leave the sheets and blankets on when folding up. I would try the bed as is for starters because it is already 4 inches thick and very comfortable as is, and I just leave the bed clothes on and fold them up with the closing of the bed side of the camper.
When I am closing up the camper after a camp out I always save the ground cover for last and fold it up and put it on top of the floor of the dressing room ( the Gray part) it is what is showing after it is all folded up and prior to putting the cover on, and then it will be the first thing youare going to put down on the ground before unfolding the the dressing room next time you set up. As for the inside floor cover you might use like a piece of carpet, I put it over the adjustable bed support after folding the first section (The Bed) this keeps the top of the camper from getting black marks on it from the aluminum leg. Do this before folding the tent material (wings) in from both ends before pulling the top bows over the bed section. I hope this is not too much information!
I will send you a pm also about other things you ask about. I sure hope this helps P^ Grandpa

Grandpa,
Would you mind expanding on your comments here instead of in the private message. It's obvious you know these things inside and out. I believe that I just completed the purchase of a 1997 model.
I had a 1992, which was the small one with the drop down panel.
Do you know if the add on rooms available today will fit an older model?

SideCarMike, Hi and I will try to explain. Your 97 model has a 4 foot dressing room, and should have a zipper at the Highest point of the roof on the outside, and this is where the top of the add-a-room zips on,so, if your camper has a zipper across the top, then it will work. What is different is the length of the side walls, and top awning of the add-a-room. I know that the older Style (Grand Estate Model) has a 4 foot dressing room and the newer Style (LX Model) has a 5 1/2 foot dressing room so they made the Add-a-room for the newer camper 18 inches longer, but they all zip onto the top rail zipper at the same place. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask what ever you need I will try to help of I will ask the guys at Bunkhouse. They are really good guys and nice to deal with, and I think they are still able to get you an Add-a-room made for the smaller dressing room campers.

Thanks. I haven't seen my new camper, and won't until the 13th, but I'm confident it is what I am looking for.I liked the '92, but wanted a bigger one with inside access to the storage.

I think I like the bunkhouse because of the underbed storage but I like the lee-sure lite too. Never owned a motorcycle camper but thinking REAL seriously about it (getting too old for the ground). We ride a 1300 Yamaha RS Venture. Any opinions would be appreciated.

The leesure lite is like the Kamparoo that I had. Very well built, easy to erect, and a hard top for transport. Unfortunately, anything you carry is on the bed and goes on the floor when you want to sleep. I got tired of tripping over stuff.
They are best suited to guys like a few I know. They normally will do a 900 mile day, pull in to a Walmart parking lot, flip it open, sleep for a couple hours, slam it shut and be off again.
Even though it is six inches wider than a Bunkhouse when going down the road, the Bunkhouse has a huge bed. The leesure Lite is best suited to a single individual, or small newlyweds.
