On the road to Fl.

I left Monday about 12:20pm. Everything was going well, I was singing
happy happy joy joy. Then right after I turned off Rt 79 on to Rt19,
MY BACK LEFT WINDOW SHATERED. The road was smooth, nothing was
touching the window, ( IT JUST BROKE.) So I stopped at the Wal-Mart,
bought some duct tape, and taped the window hole. After 1 1/2 hours I
started again.So I stayed over at Ft. Christwell, at a campground.
That night it got down to 22*, all my other vans I put insulation in
and rug covering it. I haven't done that yet on this one. WELL THE
LITTLE HEATER I BROUGHT DIDN"T DO ANYTHING.The fact that I didn't have
a back window made it worse. I froze my butt off. Now I don't only
need a new window, I also need a new butt. That was the first day and
night, today was uneventful. I am staying at a Supper 8 in Brunswick
Georgia.Its going down to 29* or 30* tonight here. I heard it's going
down to 35* in Fl. too.

I will update when I have WIFI

Well I made it to sunny Fl. Where the skies are not cloudy all day. HA HA HA. But when the sun goes down. WOW!! It got down to 38* Last night. Tonight its only going down to 43* not to bad. Its cold in the back of the van with, ONLY ONE WINDOW. I will survive

I think ifen I were in a tent with the electric heater and two blankets on top of the tent it would be warmer!!!!!_!!!That slash is when I shivered.!!!!_!!!!There I did it again.

Hi Gary,

A lot of guys in the home built boat world like to use outdoor chaise lounge cushions to sleep on. They're relatively cheap, water resistant, and easily rolled up and put away when not in use. Maybe you could find one to use in the van.

Today 01/28/2010, I GOT TO RIDE!!! Its all worth it. tomorrow, I am riding all day, Sebring, Lake worth, Okeechobee, Punta Gorda, Pine Island, Ft Myers. Its all warm 75* I hope and pray to hit them all this week.

Just try to get back to your campsite before dark, as those "Older Drivers" down there, kinda go blind after dark, and certinaly don't watch for motorcycles.

I brought my camera ( I wish I would have brought the wire to hook it up to the PC.)( sometime I really Pi$$ myself off.) I have taken pictures just have to wait to see them.
I went for a ride today from here in Arcadia to the Atlantic ocean on the other side of Fl. Past Lake Okeechobee, on Rt 70 about 250miles round trip.

2/3/2010 ---2/11/2010, I have finally taken pictures I can post. I rode to Siesta Key beach, Venice beach, Captiva Island, And Port St Lucy.I have had food poisoning. I am stuck here until the snow melts in Pittsburgh, they had 30".

I really don't think so. I am still in Fl.. I only came down for a week or two, Its now been over three weeks. I don't think I can go back to Pittsburgh for two or three more weeks because of the snow. You guys be careful, the weather is tricky this time of year.On the bright side if you are going to be stuck somewhere, This is the place to be stuck.I put 1060 miles on the Wing so far.

Yes I did. I was going to let it go until I get home, but they say the duct tape would remove the paint. I called my Ins. co. they sent someone to the campground where I am in Fl. and replaced it here. Like I said I may be here awhile, with the snow the way it is up there.

Just like John Candy,( I am living in a van down by the river.)For a month now. Its really not to bad, and I rode 255 miles today 2/ 15/ 2010. I went all around lake Okeechobee Ok-a-doe-key. What a beautiful day, 75* and sunny. I have pictures, I will post them tomorrow.

2/15/2010 I rode around Lake oakachobee OK-A-doe-Key, 250 mile round trip.
2/16/2010 today I rode to Boca Grang,it has an old and new light house, 155 mile round trip. So far I have riden a little over 2000 miles.

No I am back in Pittsburgh Pa.. I had to make it home I was running out of money fast. I went to Fl. for a week and stayed a month.
