Just saw this somewhere online.

Interesting, though you look like you got a large colostomy bag hanging off you.. wonder how well it would work in a 100 degree heat (with and without humidity).

Not only does it cool it also appears to heat.

Between my Gerbing heated jacket and pants linners and heated gloves for the cold. And with my cooling vest for the heat im pretty well set. But as VABob has already pointed out I too got to thinking about it as I watched the video. Could it be used for cooling and heating a small tent? Its small, portable, and runs on 12 volt. imagine a camp spot with minimum hookups. with an AC adapter you could remove it from the bike and move it to your tent. I doubt i'll ever have the need for one and he price could still be a major deal breaker.

Just a thought:rolleyes:

Israeli. It does get hot in that part of the world, just might work.

In response to the question, the answer might be yes. 120ºf coming home is a good reason for it....highway temps approach 150º

I like it.

A couple of years ago I made the mistake of riding through Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi on Interstate 10 on my way to Killeen Tx in June. Man was it hot. I was buying cold water bottles to pour down my neck and back while riding. Plus, I would get stuck in stop and go traffic on the interstate because of road maintenance. That even made it worse. I swore I would never take a southern trip in the summer again. At least not on a black air cooled harley.

With one of these, maybe I would.....

Anybody care to take a stab at the price? I'm thinking around $450. Am I hot / cold or on a different planet?

Not advertiseing a price yet. Doesn't look like it's in production.

I think I'll pass just the same.

I'd be happy to just find one of those Sahara Vests to zip in to my Joe Rocket. It seems the company no longer offers them.

Living in Florida, something like that would be niice. The $450 would be close to my limit. But I would guess the price would be several times the $450. Looks like a similar system at this link for considerably more than $450.

A/C's need alot of power.Could it hurt the charging systems?

I'd think it would be pretty tough to market with the "Takes more power than a normal MC alternator is liable to produce" disclaimer.

I'll promise you that isn't a normal automotive type AC, no heat exchanger, hard to guess electrical needs with out knowing what is happening.

This personal cooling system seems a little more practical (about $400).

http://www.veskimo.com/servlet/StoreFront

"The Veskimo Personal Cooling System (http://www.veskimo.com/servlet/the-10/personal-body-cooling-system/Detail) combines a lightweight, breathable Personal Cooling Vest that is worn under your normal clothing, connected to a Hydration Backpack that is worn over your clothing. The body cooling vest is supplied with ice water circulated from the backpack via a high efficiency battery powered pump.

I took a riding course in back in July with a guy who was wearing this. He did not sweat near as much as the rest of us. He said he used it when he commuted back/for to work & it kept him very cool.

I don't know..........sorta like the idea of not having to mess with water and ice everytime stopping to gas up. An actual air conditioning system all self contained, plug and play sounds pretty  "COOOOL". The Price is probably the big deal beaker.
