Time to complete the TAT (http://www.transamtrail.com/) and this year I will be doing Tennessee, Mississippi and redoing Arkansas and half of Oklahoma. Not sure when or with who yet but Phil has already call me about it and I知 sure Ron would like to go. These two states should be easy now that most of it is paved.
I知 working on the maps now and will post more details later as I know them. We will be camping most if not all nights and hopefully some night out in the middle of nowhere. Right Guys! LOL

Ride Dates
Leave Houston on 4/22/10 do TN (23rd, 24th), MS (25th), AR (26th, 27th), OK (28th, 29th) and be home on the 30th. P^

Rats! Bad timing for me. Hopefully, I'll be recovering from much needed knee surgery at that time so that I'll be ready for rides later in the fall.

If I couldn't keep you out of the motels in Nevada, how am I going to keep you out of the motels in Mississippi??????

Make it early May!! You don't want to miss this.
I've got 25 Apr - 1 May off. I can add a week before or after this off so 2 weeks would be no problem. I think Toejam has the same time off.
Hopefully TAT III won't feature TOEJAM II. It'll hit you later.
I'll be on my XR600 and after TAT II Toejam will be on his XR610.
Would be cool to ride with Rydah and Trailace again!!!!!!!!

Guys I知 done with the TAT maps for TN and MS here is what I知 thinking.
I don稚 want to take 2 weeks off to do the last two states of the TAT because I might be doing the Trans-Labrador Highway in Aug or Sep and will need 2 weeks for sure. I tried building a route all the way from the Atlantic Ocean but it would add around 650 miles each way and I知 not sure how much of it would be dirt. I will just wait for Sam to complete his map. Now if you think we should try to start at the Atlantic Ocean I will try to come up with a route but I won稚 promise it won稚 have lots of dead ends or lots of pavement. I believe we could do Atlantic Ocean to the end of MS in a week but on the other hand I think we could do TN, MS AR and half of OK in a week.
Leave on Friday morning and head to Indian Mountain State Park in TN. 2- Days (For me 979 miles)
TN will take 2 days (600 miles)
MS 1 day (200 miles)
AR 2 days (432 Miles0
OK 1 or 2 days we can do the half of OK in one day but if were having fun we could push on or head home early. (200 To ? miles)
One long day to get home. (500 to 700 miles)
I知 thinking start on April 30th and return home on May 8th of 9th.

A week earlier would definitely work better for me as my vacation starts on the 24th and runs through the 30th. I can add a few days to either end.

Works for me. Toejam and I may take an extra day or 2 getting there and meet you there.

OK only 7 weeks b4 us MotoCampers take on the east side of the TAT. This is the easy part of the TAT so if your looking for a fun DS ride this is it.

Well I'm back home and I had amazing time with 3 good friends. P^
I will post up some pics and start a ride report once I get caught up around here first. We completed the TAT riding on Wednesday but spent the last 2 days working on the ranch no Internet there. :(

yes it is a good thing, small things like lighting, tornados, hail and knee deep water running 5 mph can ruin a good day of ridding and camping :eek:

Great ride with great riders. Tons of fun, and everyone made it home safe and sound. With just a couple minor spills, some near misses and no breakdowns, it was a very successful trip. Great stories to follow....
