Hello all,
I just discovered this site from a link that somebody left on Sport-touring.net. I was very excited to discover this forum, as I have been an avid lifelong camper and an avid motocamper since I began riding about ten years ago. In fact, it was the idea of camping by motorcycle that got me interested in bikes in the first place after reading "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" as an impressionable young lad many years ago.
Like all of you, I have developed my own "system" of doing things (gear, packing, camp craft, etc.). I prefer rougher camping in primitive sites, and I am eager to learn and to share ideas, especially since I will be trying to camp two-up this season with my wife for the first time (she's finally willing to give it a shot). In a few weeks, we'll be shipping off our daughter (7 weeks) to grandma's for the weekend and taking a two-nighter up into Vermont. I figure that it's far enough away to feel like a trip, but is close enough to get back home in a hurry if things don't work out well (i.e., wife hates it).
Now if you'll excuse me, I go and browse through the forums . . .
