After Googling awhile I found 2 that look like they are quality made.
Polar Bear (http://www.polarbearcoolers.com/PB061-softcooler/)
Ice Bear (http://theicebear.com/features.htm)
Anyone have any experience with either of these brands.
I have several coolers that I use for picnics, etc.
I've never paid more than a few dollars for one at Target or Wally World.
i was looking for something of good quality.
Any opinions, and especially experiences welcome.

I just got the Polar Bear for X-mas and it feels and seems very nice.P^
Came packed flat, size was about 2" thick, the directions say to pour
hot water in it to help it expand.
Inside and out feels rugged like you won't worry about ripping it.
Now as long as it keeps things cold this summer.:D

We've had good luck with the Artic Zone collapsable coolers. They don't leak, and keep stuff cold for a suprisingly long time. The one we have will easly hold a 12 pack (or equivalent) plus a bag, or block of ice.
When we travel, we always carry one along for use when we're camped for a few days, as it allows us to be able to run with a smaller cooler on the tongue of the trailer (less weight) and still have plenty of cooler space when needed.

Dont worry about your Polar Bear cooler. I have the 12 pack model and it keeps ice for over a day with no problems. I spent 4 days at the Moto GP races in Indiana 2 years ago and only added ice to it twice in 4 days so it does a great job. I have owned mine for the past couple of years and use it often. Polar Bear coolers are very well made and should last for years..

Denny,
The Polar Bear cooler packs flat again after use. Well not totally flat but I find I can get it in my top case after using it.
I will be heading back to Indy this August in fact, to see how Ben Spies can do at the brickyard. The camping there is not too bad for being in the middle of a city. However when we were there in 2008 the the rements of the huricane that destroyed Galviston Texas made its way through Indy durring the race. My tent was blown across the campground completely loaded with my gear. Kelty has a great warranty and repaired the tent for free. My Polar Bear cooler was fine. Other than that we had a great time there. Life is all about adventure.......
I will let you know the details as the time draws near..

My Polar Bear cooler works great and very sturdily made. I got mine during a half price sale which I hope they run again because they are expensive.

You guys have convinced me that the polar bear is the one for me.
I hope to find a sale but it looks like I missed the holiday sale for this year anyway.

I favor the Seattle Sports frost Pac. I have 3 different sizes. All f them i've had for at least 10 years one of them for over 15 years. They are GREAT coolers. the 19 qt. always goes along camping and has served me well.
Recently I aquired a 12 pack Polarbear cooler, a gift from a friend who won it at an event. Well made and insulated. Seems to keep ice for day's. Fits nice in my smaller LH Jesse. Being only 7'' wide it straps well on top of either Jesse bag. I usually carry it with most of the time.P^

They aren't all that expensive anyway, but the 2 for 1 sale is a real bonus.

I have the six pack size and I'm not really sure how small the six pack folds to. Some of the others here might be able to answer your question or just send the Polar Bear folks an email and I'm sure they can give you an answer.

I was told by a guy on advrider that sells them that the 6 pack isn't that useful. 12 pack is a good all around size.

Just an FYI... I've used one of the six pack Polar Bear coolers for a couple of years now. Fits nicely in one side of my top case (Givi E46) along with a couple of sheets of their “Techni-Ice” ice packs and will hold three 16oz bottles of water or soft drinks laying on their side. They will stay cold for a long days ride even in the hot summer days here in the south. I have considered this small cooler as a standard farkle and actually leave the cooler in my top case all the time. When I'm ready for a ride throw a couple of sheets of the ice packs in. I never leave home for a ride without it.

I stumbled onto this thread a little late. I called Polar Bear Coolers, and they said, "Sorry, the coupon has expired." But since your reviews are so positive, I ordered a six-pack anyway. UPS Tracking says it will arrive tomorrow. Thanks for all your comments.

The Polar Bear Coolers are a bargain at the regular price. The 2 for 1 deal is just ice cream on the pie..... You will probably be back for a 12 pack.

Polar Bear is repeating their 2-for-1 sale. Here's the code.
To order, just go to www.polarbearcoolers.com and fill your cart with everything you want. At Step 2 during checkout, type 2112 in the "Coupon" box and click "Continue". Your total charge will be cut in half to reflect the 2 for 1 deal. Or, give us a call at 888-438-7924. Coupon is good through the end of the year and while supplies last.
Just posted at ST-Owners today.

Last spring, I bought a six-pack Polar Bear Cooler, and it is a nice size, but I felt that I needed more. As a customer, I got the e-mail about the 2 for 1 sale, and I wasted no time ordering two of the 12-pack size. Yup. The code, "2112" works perfectly. My new soft-sided coolers arrive today.
I'm already planning next year's camping trips. Where are we meeting up? When?

I've been using a Coleman 12pack cooler(5.5"L x 10.75"W x 8.5"H) for about 10 years so far. Keeps ice for 30 hrs or so. My only complaint is the dark red color turned to pink after about 8 years :o
It fits nicely in my saddlebag and will hold a 10 pound bag of ice and 8 cans or (less ice more cans) I prefer the more ice and restock cans as needed method.
I see the new ones are not recomended for ice???? (http://www.coleman.com/coleman/colemancom/detail.asp?product_id=2000004132&categoryid=8515&brand=)
If I ever need to replace this one I'm thinkin Polar Bear.

My polar Bear will keep Ice for a couple of days, and just like they claim for 24 hours on a 100 degree day. I was very impressed with the performance.

My 12-pack Polar Bear Coolers arrived, and I very cautiously "reformed" them with the hot water treatment. That's just amazing in itself.
All dried out, I wanted to see how these fit in my Givi bags. Surprisingly, the 12-pack fits snugly into my E-21s. There is no room for anything else. Of course, they fit into the E-36s very nicely as well and the 45L top case. Nice.
Now ... let's go moto camping.
