Hi all,

This gentleman "abnmarine" has decided to go the Class "A" motorhome route and is letting me take his motorcycle camper trailer off his hands. I pick it up this Saturday. Can't wait...

Here is a link to another forum with a thread about his camper:

Congrats! I think you are going to like it.
my Add a Room is slightly different in that all the poles are on the inside. It does have grommets to tie it down if necessary, but not required to set it up.I think my awning is a little smaller, but I'm not sure, haven't set that up yet.We bought ours in November 09
Looks like yours is the king bed?

Nope, but I sure do like the Liberty sidecar. I might ask him about it though when I pick up the camper.

Jeff,

Abnmarine mentions that he winged it when setting up the add-a-room since he did not wait for the personal instruction for it when he picked it up. Maybe the poles do go on the inside and the grommets are for the tie down lines. I will have fun playing with it either way.

Well ... he got himself a camper, that's what counts .. right?
If he's happy with it, that's all that really matters.

Exactly!

As some of you know, I've been researching Motorcycle Pop Up Tent campers for the last month or so. I quickly learned that all of current manufacturers have good products. It comes down to your preferences and the price; not to mention a good off season deal if I could find one.

However, I noticed that on quite a few of the "roll a home" pics I came across on web sites they were attached to Goldwings. I decided to google "roll a home" together with Harley and 'abnmarines' thread came up. He picked his up new in August 2008 with the slide out king size bed. So I sent him an email asking him about hitches, towing weight, etc., should I decide to buy one. Low and behold he decided that he wanted to sell it and mentioned that on the Hd forum a few posts after my post about hitches and stuff. A quick email and phone call later and we struck a deal. Go figure. Plus, it will fit in the back of my truck.

Jeff,

After reviewing the original owners forum pics, I think you are right about different add a rooms. Your pics have one window and his (now mine) have two windows on the end. Oh well...

The picture on the Roll a Home web site shows the two window version with the poles inside.I guess you can figure it out when you pick it up this weekend!P^

Gee Gary, (not Gene this time ... I remembered) if you had a camper, you'd never be home. :D

If I had a camper I would always be home. (In the camper get it?)

Gary, If you do find the camper of your dreams, and if it's just you alone using it, be sure it's somthing you can easly set up by yourself.
Some of the campers out there almost require two people to set up.

I did not know that. Is there a kind that you can you set up yourself?

The Roll a Home can easily be set up by yourself. I've done it several times.
Most of the campre manufacturers have videos illustrating setup on their web sites.

Gary:
They all can be set up by one person, I'm just saying some are easer to do alone than others.
But generally the smaller ones are the easiest to get up fast. You may want to consider thinking of this when you have about 90 seconds before it starts to down pour, and the wind just kicked up.
Check 'em out before you buy somthing you might not be truly happy with.
Remember ... a camper will be your 'new home away from home', may as well enjoy it to the fullest.

G wizz
Oh ... by the way Gary, I most always set our Aspen Sentry up alone, as that always seems to be the time the wife finds the need to go inpect the restrooms. :oh2:

Hi all,

I picked up the camper trailer today. There were two surprises...

1) it had the swivel coupler,
2) the seller threw in the air conditioner with remote

Here is a list of the options it has:

August 2008 sold from factory to seller
King bed slide out
Chrome wheels
Spare tire
awning
add a room
double door in dressing room (door each side of the dressing room)
cargo storage area fiberglass covered with fabric
carpet for dressing area
air conditioner opening
swivel coupler
cooler rack
Aluminum storage bin
AC thrown in by seller

I think that is all.

It rode very well behind my 4x4 truck at freeway speeds up to 75 mph with a big cross wind. The only problem I had was that I could not see the camper. Removing the tailgate solved that problem.

Here are a few pics of it at my house. Nothing special. It was too cold to setup and show the wife. I will add more pictures to this web site once it warms up: www.cathydavid.com/ROH.html

Since it rode so well behind the truck I will probably take it to a buddy's place in WVA sometime in the next two months. He has 25 acres with a creek running through the middle of it with a brand new restroom building and cabin! I met him via work and feel somewhat uncomfortable staying in his cabin. Now I can camp right next to the creek and enjoy it and the restroom. Here are a few pics of his property: www.hdlorydr.homestead.com/JasonSimpson.html
