How do you feel about members having a "States Travelled Map" in their signatures. and if you use one, should it reflect states travelled with your current motorcycle or with all your motorcycles?

Well, I am using a map and it shows the states I've traveled on my current motorcycle. The only other state I could add with all my bikes would be La.
I'm hoping to add a few more this next year.

Any and all states that you have ridden a motorcycle in. That's what they were designed to represent.

Jim,
It was kind of a tough decision for me. On my map the western states and Hawaii were not with my current motorcycle and were some years ago. But in the end I decided to include all the states too.

Well ... The state map for states you have ridden your motorcycle in is kinda like the "days camped" on the Motocampers camping counter. You are on your honor as to whether or not you are being truthfull. Most people give honest answers, but then again, I know of one that claimed on the camping counter that they had camped many times, when actually, they never spent a single night this year camping with their motorcycle.
Is this counter just for camping with your motorcycle? Or do you include car camping, or camping in your back yard?
Should we have a poll to find out? Can we all be honest about it?
Same thing goes with the states map ...
Then again, do we even need a poll for this ?
Just my thoughts ...

Probably not. I find signatures interesting and wondered how many considered using a map like this on their signature and what it meant as far as current or previous motorcycles. But, as far as using this map on a motorcycle camping forum, I probably should have asked the question to query whether or not your signature map reflects what states you have camped in with your motorcycle. Anyone want to create a poll posing that question?

David:
Go for it, and while you're at it, work up one for next years camp counter specifying if days camped is for days camped with a motorcycle, or for any type of camping.

The forum is: MOTOCAMPERS as in "motorcycles" not Car or Truck Campers. The counter should be for ONLY nights that you have swung your leg off your motorcycle, unpacked your tent and set it up. I have at least 8 more nights that the family loaded up the Ford Expedition and camped for the weekend but as far as I'm concerned, does not count.
Just my 2 cents....................

I agree with you one hundered percent! With only ONE exception. Don't forget to include us camper users. :)
Wish everyone would use the camp counter the way you just explained it.

I haven't got my map added yet, but I counted every state I've ridden in on all my bikes. And the state of CA where I rented a bike. I figure riding any bike counts.
G wizz, I would think that setting up a camper would be more work than setting up a tent, so it should definitely count.

Not wanting to burst your bubble, but setting up our camper actually takes us less time and energy, then we ever took setting up a tent.
It's one of the great things we love about it ... especally when it's raining ...
Also ... Just for the record ... all of the states we have colored in on our map are states we not only rode our motorcycles in, but have also spent nights camping in ... with our motorcycles.

Campers count......absolutely!!!!!!! As long as they are towed by a motorcycles, trikes, scooters and rigs with sidecars. I'll even add that 4-wheel "Spyder" thing. Technically, it's a motorcycle when it comes to getting it registered.
I hope I covered everything.................:confused::confused: Don't want to offend, don't ya know.
Have a great Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I updated this poll so go back and withdraw your vote and then vote again. At the bottom of the poll you will see withdraw vote in gray.

OK, if it's only states I camped in, I'll need to remove a few.
But what if you rode across one state then camped in a second state in 1 day? Would that count?
Maybe this is getting to complicated.

But its so much fun.
I have an idea make all the state you have ridden in only one color like Red and the ones you have camped and ridden in Blue.

I think having a states map in your signature is silly. :)

My 'Map' reflects the States I have camped/ridden through, riding all my bikes, over quite a number of years. :map1:
Doesn't bother me one way or the other, if they are included in a member's sig line, or not.
