It was only a 30 mile ride, but it was fun. My wife's oldest sister, who is 70 years old, came to Texas from Tennessee to visit us for the first time. She has been looking at my motorcycles for a week, and today she asked to go for a ride! She has never ridden on a motorcycle before. So my wife and I gathered up a helmet, a too-large jacket, boots and gloves and we were off. Since we got back she has been calling her friends in Tennessee and telling them that she rode on a motorcycle. It makes me smile to hear the excitement in her voice.

Well how cool is that! The next step is to get her into an MSF class and let her try her hand at riding her own bike. :p

I wasn't sure how she would respond to the ride, and I'm glad that she enjoyed it. She said that if she lived closer she would get her own bike and ride with us. Maybe it had something to do with watching her sister (my wife) riding in front of us.

So a little sibling rivalry got her on your bike! I think that's great. I was approached at church by a 74 year old lady who asked if I'd give her a ride. She's never been on a bike before either. She hasn't yet worked up the courage to actually do it yet, but she's talked about it. I've told her I'm ready whenever she is!

That's Great!

I still remember my Mom's Mother's Day ride back in 2002, she's been hooked ever since.
