Non-Stick Coated, Hard Anodized Aluminum
I have several cook sets but really like the insulator cup and spoon that came with GSI Pinnacle Soloist so I purchased it for the TAT ride this year. I was concerned that the Aluminum might not hold up but after 1,900 + miles of hard off road it was fine.
I use it with my Snow Peak Giga Stove (http://www.snowpeak.com/back/stoves/ultralight.html) that will fit inside with 1 small canister of fuel.
Pro’s Heats fast and cleans up easy the handle is great.
Con’s Diameter could be a little smaller so it would pack smaller.

Nice cook set, I really like the hard anodized aluminum over the stainless sets. P^

That's a really nice looking stove. And I suppose the spent fuel canisters can be saved for the 4th of July. Looks like you could just throw them in a fire, and "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE". :fire4:

I got a set after seeing Rick's.. it's nice... however, my campingaz canisters won't fit and if the diameter was a little smaller your snow peak canisters probably wouldn't fit so the pro/con on that sorta helps you out.
Just as well... those snow peak canisters are dangerous.. LOL

The GSI cook set will be on order soon....after seeing Trailace's set in action (Much more efficient than my walmart set....
Although I am sad to say I missed the fuel canister safety demonstration...:(

There will be more testing next time we camp at the farm.

Not 100% true. If the cup was also a little smaller you could fit the canister in a smaller pot first then the spoon and stove then the cup on top upside down.

True... but I'm not sure how the pot finish would handle a canister ... when I got mine I thought there was a teflon sticker on the bottom but I threw it away before thinking about it much.... maybe a thin chamois on the bottom before putting the canister in.

Cowboy5 and I looked these over yesterday in person. Very compact!
GSI products are very good. I have a couple of sets of their hard anodized cookware but not that one. I think REI has rebadged some of their cookware as their own brand.

I have a couple of different sets of GSI cookware and think they offer very good value for the money. Light, compact and quite durable. I recommended the Soloist set to a Bud after I discovered that GSI discontinued the Halulite Double Boiler (http://www.mountainsports.com/MSmain.asp?Option=Detail&Detail=006376) We found that the flimsy clear plastic lid became somewhat distorted after the pot's 1st use(just boiling some water) and the fit of the lid on the insulated cup was then 'sloppy' and wouldn't snap on, the way it should(like new and unused) He returned it to the store for an exchange. We went through almost their entire inventory before we found one with a lid that fit tight enough to stay put on the insulated cup. After that little 'glitch', he's been very happy with it, using it in combination with a Snow Peak Giga Power SS stove and the Snow Peak Giga Power 110g fuel canister, both of which fit inside the Soloist.
