Thanks, that is nice.. I never really considered Kansas.. Always looked at that state as a 'ride through' state that I wouldn't stop at, kinda like Nebraska... Looks like I'm going to have to change my way of thinking.

My daughter went to grad school at Kansas State in Manhatten, KS. Before my first visit I had the same idea as Mellow, why would I want to visit Kansas. But the area around Manhatten and Junction City is very nice with the Kansas River flowing through the area. Fort Riley is also right there and is a nice place to visit because of the military history of the fort. General Custer lived at Fort Riley and the fort has a real nice Cavalry Museum. If you are passing through Kansas on I-70, the short detour to this area is interesting.
