Well yesterday we drove our two 2007 Yamaha 650 Silverados up to Carson City, Nevada to trade them in for a pair of 2009 Suzuki 650 V-Stroms. Both are Metallic Silver (gray), didn't like the orange. The dealer, Michael Cycle Works, offered us a good deal we just couldn't pass up.P^ We drove them back in heavy winds and yet we had a great ride home, approx. 175 miles home.:) This was the fault of Ironheadziggy76.;) If he had not driven his V-Strom to Alaska with us, we would have never thought about buying one, let alone two. Thanks Steve! Colleen (Black), says we have to eat beans till 2012, (that's okay, since the world is supposed to end that year).:p Oh, the motocamping possibilities with them.:) Still will use the Urals for our dogs.

Beautiful bikes! P^ I hear the silver ones are faster than the orange ones. :D I really like the silver wheels and the black rack. Someone asked me what was the thing I liked the least about my Wee and I told them I didn't care too much for the color. :p It's a nice metallic red, but it just doesn't look right on this type of bike. The silver looks great on these bikes. Unless Suzuki has corrected it, the speedometers are about 5 mph off on these bikes. Check it with your GPS and go from there. Then you will quit wondering why everyone is riding your tail light.

Y'all need to head on over to the Cherohala Chill Out and get some miles on them this spring. I'll bring y'all some Ramen Noodles for a change after eating all those beans! :p

You are now assimilated!

Fantastic motorcycles.......I've had two DL650s. Took one up to Alaska and around the country and the 07 now has just about 25K with many multi-day trips. Nothing like em'.

Lots of farkles in my photo album at my web site

Thanks.:)

ImRubicon: No, we still have the Urals. The puppies still need their fix too.:D

Steve: We hear beans and ramen noodles are fantastic together.:p

As far as dual sporting bikes, it was inevitable.:) Took them for another shake down ride yesterday and now we wondered what took us so long to see the light.P^

Wow! I go camping for a couple of days and BOOM. Bike changes!

I'm pretty darn sure you are going to like the Wee STroms. I think the 1k will be my next bike. I need a bigger bike for a bigger bod:)

Wow!!! They're beautiful (in their own way of course). Looks like the DL650 has claimed two more victims. It got me about 5000 miles ago, and I've enjoyed all of them.

Just got back from a little 600 miler in the rolling hills of Northeast Texas (Jefferson, TX area), and it was very nice.

Congrats and happy Stroming!!!!

Keith;

They will never be completely "farkled" until I figure out how to outfit them like yours.

You know, with the convection oven, satellite dish, murphy bed...all those cool gadgets we saw on yours!

Your bike is like the proverbial magicians hat with you pulling out all those gizmos.

Just an update. We are finally getting everything on the new bikes that we wanted. New cases, engine/faring guards, hand guards, and center stands.:run1: Awaiting for the tool tubes and the oil cooler guard that Ironheadziggy76 recommended from Adventure MotoStuff. Still debating on the larger windshields, but that's not definite. Now to configure where and how to load our camping stuff. Planning on carrying our Saddlemen's tail bag on the passenger seat. Trying not to go for that Jed Clampett look, but not too adverse to it.:D Hopefully tomorrow the oil cooler/engine guards will be here.:ups: Until then...:)

You two could break those nice new bikes in by riding em' back east to the
" Cherohala Chill Out" in Tennessee .... you'd be practiculy in Ziggys back yard. P^

Well, we're pretty sure, if or when we decide to come, we'll come in the Urals with the dogs. Don't like long term kenneling for our pups.:( Would definitely love to get over to that part of the good old USA. Has to be beautiful country. Kinda like Michigan's Upper Peninsula.:)
